Should I run?

I'm supposed to be starting week 4 but my left knee is hurting and feels a bit 'twisted'. I can oun point the part that hurts exactly. Should I have another rest day or two or should I strap it up and go? I'm a true novice runner and do t want to do more harm than good.

If it is a twist it will need rest, maybe try some fast walking and see how it reacts. I’d be getting it checked out if I was you.

Hi NatchoJo, you certainly shouldn’t be running if it hurts hun, personally I’d take another rest day, use some hot and cold treatment on it and maybe some brufen if it’s bad and if no better go see the pharmacist or gp. Hope you feel better soon x

Thanks guys. I just chatted to a dad at school and he said inner side knee pain is probably ligament pain so two weeks rest and ice. I'm not willing to spoil what I've started so it's two weeks rest then I'll repeat week 3. It's not a race to the finish line so my graduation will have to wait an extra couple of weeks. I feel sad but don't want yo cause permanentl damage. Onwards and upwards.

My knees were hurting around week 3 and it turned out my trainers weren't giving me the correct support. Got some new trainers and it got rid of the pain when running.

But if it's hurting constantly definitely give it a rest.

I've had to give running a rest for a week due to injury (not running related) but managed to get back to it no problem today (wk8)

I would rest. I continued to run through pain and have now done more harm than good and not run for over 2 weeks. Rest up!
