Managed my longest run ever today in torrential rain! A few little walks in between (literally 15-20 seconds if that) and feel amazing. Was worried about a 10k I want to do in September....well I've bitten the bullet and entered! Surely I can do it?!

(Clapping hands very excitedly) of course you can do it! Your well ahead of me and I believe, I might be last or crawling across the line but I will finish. Great news for entering I am very excited for you :)

Impressive! Well done you. Is it the Women's Running 10K you are doing? I am hoping to sign up for that but as I haven't made any progress since graduating C25K a month ago, I've been holding off. I'm still running three or four times a week, and have managed a couple of 6.5K runs, but it doesn't seem to get any easier and I don't seem to be able to go any farther. I am missing Laura and realise I need a voice in my ears telling me exactly what to do and when to do it.

Anyway, if you are registering for that event, maybe we could support one another?

Well done!!!!! 10 k is a good distance I think. I prefer it to 5 k as I'm slow to get warmed up so the 5 k is over before I'm even ready. LOL 10 k gives you time to hit your stride. Take care, go steady. You won't to be fit for the big day.

You could download a proper running plan from myasics.co.uk. They're brill and free!

I did an 8.3K race a few weeks ago - but I did it run/walk at 4/1 intervals. I managed to complete it at a pace of 7 minutes per klm , which is my reasonably "comfortable" 5K non-stop pace. I have yet to run much past 5K nonstop since graduating - since I signed up fairly early on for my 14K race and decided from the outset that I would do it run/walk. Sounds to me though , you are very advanced along the non-stop 10K line and will easily complete the 10K
