Pardon my French but ***k me that was good. #Couchto5k Week 9 Run 1 COMPLETE. πŸƒ

4.6km - 31mins - 6'44" pace

The new Nike Windbreaker helped with the pelting rain. Legs felt alot stronger today and the rhythm pushing the legs to make me airborne between strides was definitely much much better than the previous naggy knees episode.

Near the end, with there being a slight incline, I struggled but the last minute I got a second wind and wanted to carry one. I was all warmed up. Could feel the power especially at the top of my thighs powering me along.

It was by no means a walk in the park but I got through it. It was hard work but I FLIPPING DID IT. Chuffed beyond words.

The after glow/buzz is AMAZING. Feel so calm and relaxed. 😊

I'm more chuffed ive stuck to a plan and got out their when it's been 3c and heavy rain.. And persevered with nagging knees. Giving up wasn't an option. Didn't want to let myself down.

The end is in sight, This time, 5 days, where will you be? You will be a C25K Graduate, that's where you'll be.

Do all graduates then run 5k 3 times a week?

Well, speaking for myself, I was at a loose end for a couple of weeks, felt a bit deflated, as I liked following the structured podcasts, and then someone pointed out the C25K + Stepping Stones and Speed Podcasts - there were three of them. I tried them during the week, and a 5k parkrun on Saturdays. Then, tried running a but longer once a week. Tried various other podcasts that take you upto 10K. Graduated in Aug 2014, and in May 2015, I ran a 10K. So you can either run 5k thrice a week, or run shorter distances but faster, or longer distances, but slower, it is all upto you.
