Hi, I graduated about a month ago, and am still only occasionally managing 5k. However today I tried stepping stones for the first time, and really enjoyed it. It was a challenge but I managed to keep to the beat and I felt an enormous sense of achievement when I got to the end! However when I mapped my run I had not even managed 4k. Now I feel disappointed. Has any one else experienced this?

Stepping stones. Reduced distance!
I've experienced similar in that I don't run as far when I do stepping stones. I think my natural bpm (beats per minute) is higher than the first part of the podcast. The challenge with this podcast and stamina is to stick to the bpm and not speed up and slow down according to how tired I am or whether I'm going up or down. It's a good discipline to use these podcasts as they get faster as you go along and left to ourselves we usually slow down.
Yes I have had exactly the same experience. I did it again today and for the first time broke the 4k barrier which felt like a massive achievement. Only 0.8 to go before I hit 5k now.. I am 3-4 weeks beyond graduation I think. I have just accepted that it will take a little time to get there. The podcasts are brilliant though and I have found the tips on technique invaluable. Fingers and toes x'd for safe improvements on speed for us!
God that's such a relief! I guess I'll just have to keep working at it! You both have made me feel a lot more optimistic. Thanks
