Pleased to say after worrying about week 4, I've done the first 2 runs! Always seem to find second run of each week the hardest, weird! Anyone else find this?
Week 4, run 2: Pleased to say after worrying... - Couch to 5K
Week 4, run 2
I always find the first run more challenging and the 2nd easier as I feel more warmed up and in gear
I usually found the 2nd run the hardest. I think I used to subconsciously think "I've done this once so it's going to be fine/easy/OK" and then it wasn't. It probably wasn't actually BAD, but just not as good as I thought it "should" be. I then went into the 3rd run thinking "This was hard work last time, it's going to be hard work", but I think my body had got the idea a bit by then so did better than I expected.
Well done for getting this far. Keep going!
I too tended to find the 2nd runs harder. Maybe because you know what's to come and so have the mental barriers up before you've even got out of the door. Still ticking off the runs is what's important and you're doing that, I find the harder runs are what made me smile the most (after finishing them of course - not during! :)) because of the effort I'd have to put in. All the best for your coming runs.
Thanks all! Every week I think eke I'll meet manage the runs next week but then they're never as bad as I think! That makes sense about run 2, I think I'm always easy of run 1 and then when I manage it I think oh that was easy!
Well done, you'll breeze through the third run of the week. Best wishes.
