Colour run this weekend, booked/paid/and committed. Was going to pull out earlier this week, not at all prepared- I haven't been running.

So main excuse for not running, hubby had a big operation, house routine out of wak- but really just a bad excuse.

And I'm like this, the closer a big event is, the less I try, thinking well I've run out of time now, I'm naturally am what I am!!!.

But part of me is also thinking course I can do it, stop being so soft, just go with it.

Booked this colour run long time ago, and was feeling fitter, way back then too.

I guess one way of thinking about it is,once doing it, week 5 onwards will be easier, because I believe for me it's more the mental block I have to get past.

are you going with anyone? Cause even if you walk a big part of it, just getting out, doing whatever exercise you do, being silly and hanging out should be good.

I'm doing the Brighton Colour Run this year. Yes, it's billed as a 5K run but it's not a race and, like the Race for Life, completing and having fun are the most important things. I think you''ll find a lot of people are more intent on enjoying themselves than running!

Stop worrying and go and have fun!! :-)

I agree with the above two posts. Go out and enjoy yourself, walk as and when you need to, just have fun. I've got R4L in June and I'm still only on week 5 of this programme. We can do it. Way to go. Best wishes.

Hi All, thanx for all your replies,I'm not normally a nervous person, your comments have helped, we all get to pick our attitude, "just get out there and have fun"

Picked up my race pack yesterday. Could say it's more a excited nervous now for this first timer, venturing out from my treadmill in my spare room, and get to look like a real runner outside, Will let you know how tomorrow goes, thanx all.

Good luck with tomorrow, I did Brighton last year and I had only just started C25K you will be fine nobody really runs it like a race that would make it be over too soon and that would just spoil all the painty fun LOL my biggest bit of advice would be make sure you take sunglasses with you no matter what the weather and a scarf or neck buff to cover your mouth when you go through the paint stations, wear your white tshirt with pride and have fun
