Well it was week 8 run 2, and as it was dry i ran down the seafront again. Knew the tide would be in but when we arrived it was slightly more sploshy than i expected! Decided to give it a go and dodge the splashes! As you can see from the photo(I'm the black dot next to the 2nd lampost!) its was quite an exciting run, my partner and new dog George came along for a walk but he ended up running most of the way too(not so good in full outdoor clothing!) as George was wimpering for me and wanted to catch up!...AAH! as usual i felt like stopping after first 5 mins, then was ok-ish by half way through, turned around at the pier and once i could see the finish line it all became a little easier and it wasn't long before the 28 mins were up!! Managed to speed up for last couple of minutes and according to my garmin(on 2nd outing!) i did my fastest 400m so far! it was less effort than tuesday's run but thats cos its a lovely flat route(the other was much more up and down!) but still returned triumphant for tea and toast! No parkrun tomorrow cos working so will be next Saturday now, going to use it hopefully for my w9r3! Hope everyone is has a good weekend.............. w8r3 planned for Sunday....
Splish! Splash! i was taking a run............... - Couch to 5K
Splish! Splash! i was taking a run................!week 8 run 2..........
Wow! Looks like a beautiful place to run, and rather exciting in that weather! Well done with your running, sounds like it's going really well - you'll soon be graduating!!
Great photo - good thing you didnt leave a few seconds later!
Well done for W8R2 - I'm heading out for W8R1 tonight but not by the seaside sadly
Great post - well done. I still struggle in first 10 mins and like you do not like squishy shoes. But it was worth it for this fantastic picture. Good luck with your remaining runs
I'm not sure I like squishy trainers either! It looks lovely where you run. I just run in the city streets local to where I live that isn't particularly nice. There are some lovely green parks and walks locally though.
only my 2nd run on the seafront, used to live opposite the cliff path years back so it hold nice memories, will be lovely when it gets sunnier! Have to drive to get there at mo, its not far away, hoping to run from home and do a round trip when i'm a few weeks further on...... Squishy shoes-yuk! Most of my first runs were in the streets round my house, not that exciting but became comfortingly familiar on first few weeks of c25k....
That looks a great place to run. The wetter then better.
It makes me feel pious if I'm running in the rain. That see air looks very inviting.
it does give you a good feeling to be out in all weathers!
Great post, very inspiring, it'll help me be more fearless. Thanks and good luck with the rest of your runs.
Looks like its worth the drive to get here Aliboo! Well done sounds like your run went really well. enjoy your run on Sunday too. We are nearly there, I cant believe it! x
Well done...looks fantastic!
