Was desperate for this next run, im getting such a competative edge i really didnt know exsisted within me. I really really want the 5 k, i know its not necessary, its all about the 30 minutes running, but i waaaant !!!! :-)

So i flew through my busy day, trying to get everything done, its been non stop all day until half past 8 tonight when i finally got my chance to get out for my run. I know i should of taken it easy being on antibiotics like everyone suggested, but i felt good so went for it..... a monster has awakened ....

Ive picked a route now that im going to stick to for a while, its a country road that leads to the nearest town. Its 4.62 km from my house to the paper shop, My plan/aim/ambition/long term idea is on a sunday morning is to run to the papershop and back, so eventually i want to be able to do this, but just now im running until laura says im half way then turning back.

I really really pushed on my run, probably more than i should of, but it was so much fun, such a buzz, im loving the challenge :-)

Now i dont know what everyone else does, whether they include their warm up walk and warm down walk in their distance times ? who knows.

But..... if i was to include my 5 minute warm up and cool down...... i did 5.22 k WOO-HOO, giving me an average of 7:28 min/km

...if not i still did a respectable 4.40k in the 28 minutes running which was 6:22 min/km, well i think its good anyway :-)

So ive worked out where my turning point should be to get that 5 k. Only problem its halfway up a hill.....

Bring on the next one :-)

P.S. I think i will try to have an extra days rest though, And leave my next run until Sunday, so that my final week will be Tuesday Thursday and my last c25k run will be Saturday.

Happy running everyone :-)

it's brilliant isn't it - the happy post run feeling.....

but well done you - it's such a massive achievement on cracking 5k.

and I'm sure you could do 6:22 of running for 32 mins by the end of next week?.... and that's you doing 5k in 30 mins plus a few seconds....

are you up for a sprint finish?

Happy Running - and I look forward to seeing you in our graduation week.

Well done! That's great! I need to feel that motivation...

I usually start my tracking when I leave the house and stop it when i get home and then guesstimate the distance I cover in my actual running time but today I wanted to see exactly how far I get. When I realised I was at 4.40 at the 28 mins I knew I could get to 5k. So I think our pace is pretty similar.

I'm looking forward to next week now. :)

I stopped including the warm up / warm down once the walking intervals stopped because I wanted to know my running speeds, if you do this the distance reduces but you make up for it with a much better average pace. You are on track for 5km of pure running and if you push yourself in the final km you should be able to to it in about 30 minutes!

I hope so. My pace for the running alone was 6:22. I used endomondo to draw a map of just the run but I will just start the workout from the run from now on I think, much simpler.
