Hi there, I asked this question last week and got some good answers - unfortunately they were all about how to listen to music while using the app. As I don't live in the UK anymore I can't download the app and have to use the podcasts. And that's where I am struggling... any advice?
Just came back from my holiday (in the UK and my first run will be tomorrow morning...
Thanks again for your answers.

The podcast is complete in itself and includes music. Time was that getting through the "Me and Julie" track was a rite of passage for C25Kers.
I feel it had value because it a) people didn't spend time faffing about for the perfect playlist (likely one that would encourage them to go faster which doesn't actually help at this stage) b) was less prone to breaking down c) demonstrated that music for running and music you'd listen to normally are not necessarily the same thing and d) on occasion, the prospect of not having to listen to a particular bit again was the ultimate incentive to keep going and complete the run.
Sadly, or reading the above reply from GoogleMe happily (I hadn’t considered the benefits of the awful music before) you’re stuck with the music that’s on the podcast for now. Eventually (when it’s just running) you could use any tracker to drive the run and then play any music you like.
It’s possible to use VPN to change your apparent country to get an app, so maybe you could find a free UK one... and on Android it’s possible to spoof your location and cut out the VPN bit... but these are both probably more effort than they’re worth as it’s only for the first 5-6 weeks.
I have tried the vpn thing... didnt quite work for a number of reasons...but you are right, it‘ll only be for 9 weeks. I will survive.... Thanks anyway.
I had the same problem because I live outside UK and I didn't find a way to listen to my music with the podcast. However I have found an app in my country with the same program (same activities in each run and week) that I can use with my music. Try in your Google Play with similar names.though I must say I miss the voice and encouraging messages of the podcast. 😆
You are right, there are quite a number of other apps I could use here. However, I just like the calm voice and right mixture of encouragemanet and silence But thanks for your advice!
You could just programme the intervals you want into something like runkeeper, ignore the app/podcast and play your own music. I don’t like blocking out the external sound and can’t stand things in my ears, so just used runkeeper as above without musicduring C25K. It would shout out from my running belt each time I needed to start running or walking. I mostly still run like that, although I now have some bone conduction headphones which I use for long runs.
I use the podcast, so I start the music I have downloaded on my phone first the press the start on the podcast and that comes on a turns the music down and up as and when the instructions are being given. 😁
