After graduating over a week and a half ago, that elusive 5k in 30 minutes has been just out of reach but today I finally did it, 3.2 miles/5.1km in 29.49!!
I have no idea how, as I felt that my pace was quite slow, I had a wardrobe malfunction half way round which meant I had to back track 20 yards to collect my hair band plus so many busy roads to cross but as I reached for my watch to press stop I was absolutely gobsmacked to see my time.
Woohoo! I finally did it

OK thanks. I ran on Monday and was fine. Was a little sore this morning but I cycled to work but didn't get to run home as planned, as had frantic phone calls as 12 year old daughter had not arrived home from school and not answering mobile, it was going straight to voice mail!!! So I cycled home like the wind!!! Son was trying to celebrate his 15th birthday, but absent child took precedence with husband, family and friends scouring the streets and school checking registers etc. I got son to post on her facebook so all her mates would be able to say if they were with her....She turned up nearly two hours late with my elderly parents (I'd tried to phone there but got no answer), She had a hissy fit at me for embarrassing her on FB and is not speaking to me!!!! Grrr! So drinking wine and about to eat pizza, will go for a long run Friday to make up for my sins. x
Wow! Well done, I've got my pace down from 11:20ish per mile to 10:56 tonight, gonna need to break that 10min a mile mark to get sub 30mins for 5k, it's taken more than 3 weeks to get 20secs knocked off, so I'm well impressed with your time! Happy running.
Well done on tonight's time. My time has been coming done anywhere between 20 -60 seconds a week although today I didn't push it until the last 30 seconds when I realised I might make it under 30 minutes. Usually my pace is just over 10 minutes a mile, hopefully now that I am doing longer distances my 3 mile time will come down a little more
