Bit of a weird run

So, I'm in Week 9 and was really not feeling it tonight. My running buddy has a stinking cold and I'm not quite right but was sat on my sofa and just thought 'sod it' I want to get out there. I decided to put on a 30min playlist and just experiment a bit with this run. It's the first time I've not used a podcast and my own music instead. Also, I didn't bother with the warm up walk and just started running. The run I did used to be fine for week 4 but I discovered tonight that it is 25mins running (door to door) for me now. So, as I said a bit of a weird run: postives - I ran 25mins solid, got over the fear of how I will survive with the podcasts, ran 3km negatives - didn't run 30mins solid, breathing was off and I was coughing up a lot of gunk when I got home. Still, I could have run longer, can I put this down as a week 9 run? *pleeeeeease*

P, you have only your own honour to satisfy - nobody else is looking over your shoulder. That said, 25 minutes is a week 7 run really isn't it..... It sounds as though you may be coming down with something, so the next run may feel a lot better.

I shouldn't give up on the warm up/down walks - that are part of the programme for a reason.

I want to say yes, but I know I couldn't if it was me.. I'd just 'know' it wasn't 30.

Don't like the sound of you coughing up gunk :(

You did brilliantly to get out there and do 25 though. That was a great run.

Yeah I know that you're both right, I don't count it as a week 9 either; and I have no problem running 30mins as I did it at the weekend. *sigh* I just want my graduate badge *throws toys out of pram*. Oh well, at least I got my bum off the couch :)

And yes you did!

I wouldn't count.it either. I'd echo the others, you said you didn't feel right and possibly you are coming down with a bug. Give yourself a couple days rest and provided you feel up to it, try week 9 again over weekend. Be kind to yourself!

Definitely a bug, woke up sneezing with a temperature. Now I just feel good for doing 25mins last night x
