So I was debating whether to slob in front of the tv and have a G & T, when I clicked on to here and started reading through posts..
Mostly inspired by @Imc50 who was cajoled into a run by said mentioned teenager and then getting a similar nudge by my son Ryan (on lockdown at uni) .....
That was it, all I needed really.
Having only run on Monday of this week so far and being bogged down with driving miles to go to interviews, I figured I was lagging behind a bit anyway.
Perfect night for a run round Prestbury village as it turned out.
8C, twinkly kind of sky with a sliver of moon and the smell of woodsmoke hanging heavy in the air...
Sticking to the 'naked' running for now and on a night like tonight, it was perfectly still and peaceful. All I could really hear was the sound of my breathing and my running shoes crunching on the leaves...
I told myself if I struggled tonight I was going to do intervals. However, once I got to 15 minutes I ran out of inner gremlin excuses and ploughed on.
I was quite pleased with myself about that...gave myself a little pat on the back.
Tonight was a steady 4km and no issues.
My pace didn't alter from the first to the second mile either so nice and consistent. I didn't push tonight and just wanted to enjoy the quiet of the run as it's been a stressful week. Worked a treat as it happens, feeling heaps better already.
Seems like a run was just what I needed. ☺️
I did wonder whether I'd keep up this running malarkey post graduation, but it turns out I'm doing just that👌
Hope everyone is doing okay out there.
I was genuinely motivated by the posts tonight so thank you all....🥰
