Had a bout of achilles tendonitis but now OK. Have done the treadmill a few times last week but can't seem to muster up the enthusiasm to get outside in the cold and run. Not felt like this since I started running and it's making me feel incredibly guilty.
Has anybody seen my mojo? : Had a bout of... - Couch to 5K
Has anybody seen my mojo?
I feel the same, but I'm going out with a friend tonight, just for 30 mins. I know when I get out I'll be ok but I loath the cold, damp, dark! I have had a heavy cold which has stopped me in my tracks... It's my first run tonight *gulp*
I should think treadmill running is completely boring, but get out into the great outdoors and it's a different story. When you do your brisk five minute warm up walk you will get warm quite quickly. Get a hat on and you'll be fine. As you run you will get nicely toasty. Once you're out there and doing, you won't regret it. Get out there now dammit! LOL
You are 100% correct. I did the treadmill because of the injury as it is less high impact. Did 8k on Saturday. I could have easily done more outside but it is so boring running on the spot. I find now that it takes about 10 mins running before I start getting warm though. Still, tomorrow morning I will get the search party (me) out looking for that mojo thing!
I think the actual starting will be the hardest. Once you get out there again I think you'll find your mojo waiting by your front gate wearing a santa hat! Good luck Jonny - take it easy.
I find that one of the best things for helping me get out there is read a load of posts. Somewhere inside you will be the memory that will start to make you feel jealous of all of us out there. Also we have a few motivational things going in at the moment. They are all linked in the interim quest page

Hope your mojo comes bounding back soon
I have been reading them. This site is fantastic as a motivatoinal tool. I will be going out in the morning come what may - Unless those storms that they are talking about hit London at 6am!
Don't beat yourself up, I think quite a lot of us are really struggling with the winter outdoor running. I started in May this year and despite high temperatures in July I managed to complete C25K and continued to enjoy it. As the temperature has dropped and the days have got shorter my reluctance to go out has increased - despite the enjoyment I feel when I do achieve it. Even tonight I was kicking myself to go but by the time I got home from work it was then raining and that knocked the mojo under the couch.
I know how you feel. In the summer I have no problem getting up at even 5. 30am but winter is a real chore. I will be going out at 6 am tomorrow though. Forecast is good. Cool but dry. If I can do a 5 miler, I'll be happy. Then a 10k on Saturday morning.
I'll post with the results.
Cheers
Jon
Don't worry. I feel much the same having not got back into any sort of routine after a 7 week rest due to injury. It's just too cold and dark! I am determined to fix this by getting out over the Christmas hols. I've gone back to W5 R1 and, if necessary, might just stick at this level until the spring!! Good luck
