Has Anyone Seen My Mojo?

I know it happens to many, but I can’t seem to find my Mojo anywhere. I ran last week, but only managed to fit in two runs. Then at the weekend we were away, and even though I had diligently packed my running kit and fully intended to enjoy the pleasure of a tourist run, I just couldn’t be bothered to get outside and run, making some excuse about having some quality time with my daughter (who slept late both mornings so I would have been able to get out and back before she made it to full consciousness).

On Monday I managed a fairly slothful run, and just about managed 5k. Yesterday I was too busy to run, so I’d promised myself a longer run this morning.

The morning arrived, and with it the start of a migraine but no sign of my mojo. I grimly got out of bed and convinced myself a run would do my head good. And I guess it did, as I was soon lolloping along the streets to the next village. But my legs were reluctant to move very fast, and were certainly not in agreement with me about how far we were going to run. By the halfway mark they were grumbling away like little children on a long car journey, “Are we nearly there yet? “

I was in two minds about completing the run, but something in my head kept me going, but it was a constant battle with my legs, and it felt as if I was consciously having to lift my feet for each step of the way.

Somehow I made it to the end of the run, but it was just a meh kind of feeling. No joy... no excitement... just relief that it was over.

So if anyone spots a small mojo lurking around, or looking lost, please send it packing in my direction. I’m missing it. 😢

Pesky mojos... usually they are under the running shoes... maybe they think they should hibernate..like hedgehogs! Or the Gremlins have it kidnapped!

Well.. you ran..brilliant.. so well done for that:)

Maybe, too, you are just a tad under par... it is that time.. bugs, virus, horrid little sneaky things that a sharp frost would sort out!

Why not rest up.. a bit of TLC to yourself and then choose a route you like and do an Irishprincess joggette, not far, not fast and just for the fun of it.

I bet that mojo will suddenly reappear... :) It had better.. or I will start looking for him!!

😂😂 Yes, it wouldn’t surprise me if the gremlins had kidnapped it as they have been rather quiet for a while. I think I’m going to plan a brand new route, which may involve a drive, to see if I can find where they are holding it. Maybe I should offer to pay a ransom. 💰

Nope.. tell them you will squish them if they do not hand mojo back :)

I think your mojo is having a party with mine somewhere - I was definitely missing it on my run this afternoon. But I guess some runs are just like that ......

Well I hope they enjoy their party and come back soon. ;-)

I think mojos might shrink in the cold, and it makes them a bit harder to find!

You may be right there, but last winter my mojo was totally energised in the cold. I'm hoping I'll find it before too long. :-)

Hang on in there R, it will come back

Thanks, I know it will come back, but at the moment the couch feels more inviting that running. :-(

It's a balance. One day it will tip the other way, i.e. running will seem the more inviting option!

I know. It seems so strange though. Two or three weeks ago I couldn’t get enough of it, running 17km by “accident “ and now I don’t feel like running at all. 😕

My mojo needs the stimulant of a goal to focus on. I like to always be "training towards" some run or other, or if not then working on an aspect of pace, hill runs, etc.

I'm on the IC at the moment so my mojo feels like a caged animal!

I think that may be the problem. I'm not training for anything, as I just want to run for enjoyment, but perhaps I need to set myself a goal.

Sorry you're on the IC. It's a shame I can't borrow your mojo and take it out for a run. 😂😂😂

I don’t think you’ve lost your mojo...but it sounds like it’s thinking about winding down for Christmas!!!! You persevered though Razouski even though it seemed tough which shows that you def want to be out there....you just have to take out with you that feeling...you know, the feeling of accomplishment & the amazing wellness feeling you get after a run...you enjoy it, we all know you do...now no more ummin & arrin...shall I/sharnt i...just push those gremlins to one side & head out with the determination we all know you have 🏃🏼‍♀️💪🏻 Run for someone, anyone, who can’t xx

Thanks for the encouragement, I’m usually so enthusiastic for my runs, but I actually chose to have a lie in this morning instead of running which is so unlike me. I’m aiming to have a couple of extra rest days then try again on Monday as I have quite a few commitments this weekend.

Fingers crossed my mojo returns on Monday. 🤞🏽

Sound like the gremlins have given poor mojo a good kicking! But he’s still in there and trying to get back up and carry on.

Give mojo a chance and he’ll pull you through ..but right now needs you to side with him and when the gremlins are luring him to the couch 🛋 tell them No! We are going out ... !!

grab those trainers and leave them far behind. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Don’t let the buggers pull you down!

You and mojo will soon be lapping those darn gremlins !! 🙌🏻 xx
