I graduated on Sunday and today was my normal running day (t,t,sun) , I normally get up and out by 6.30 but today just couldn't get out of bed , body felt like lead and so tired but now feel so guilty. I'm sure that I'll be back out there Thursday as planned but feel like I have ruined all the hardwork by taking today off.

As difficult as it is to do, I believe it's really important to be in tune with your body and listen to it when it says it needs an extra day or two's rest. Running when you're not 100% can be demotivating too as you are more likely to have a bad run and that puts you off going out the next time. One missed run at this stage won't make any difference to your fitness and the rest could even be beneficial. Don't be hard on yourself!

I agree listen to your body. The next run will just feel so much sweeter because you will want it even more.

I'm going to have to cut down at the moment from the 3 runs to 2 a week just out of practicality. I'm going to try and be strong with myself about continuing but I'm also not going to beat myself up about it. If I do, I'll end up hating it. Go with when you feel you really want to do it that's what I'd say. We have enough to feel guilty about on a daily basis without adding to it!
