Yay or nay? if no how long should I take off. Today is supposed to be the last run on week 8.

The general rule of thumb that I have heard and adhere to is, if the ailment is above the neck, (ie a head cold) then it's OK to run, if it's below then you should rest up.

Having gone out this morning with a bit of a rough throat, I would add wear a scarf or something. I wore a nice big cotton square as a scarf and it kept my throat nice and warm.

I would vary the programme. Laura says this is OK. Skip back to one of the runs from a few weeks ago so that you maintain your cardio exercise, maintain the feeling that you're perservering, but at the same time you give yourself a bit of a slack. When your head gets better you'll easily be able to skip back to week 8.
