week 2 could not compleat help
If you can do week 3, stick with it. You don't have to rigidly stick with the programme, it is just a suggestion (I found that by the time I reached week 6 I was ready to try the 30 minutes so I did, and skipped out weeks 7 and 8). Keep it up with the momentum you have found. And if you find that as the weeks progress you are coming home from a run and you are not absolutely exhausted, try moving up a week to see how you go. The worst that could happen is that you can't do it and you have to drop back. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Given your run went very well I think moving on to week 3 makes sense. See how it goes. If you find you are getting jiggerd half way through then just slow down a wee bit. And I have to say...wow, going out at 4.30 am is something else.
Whilst I accept that this programme is probably the best going, you DON'T have to stick to it.
I have never run listening to any podcast, and I now do a regular 6.5k each morning coming from a non-running (distance) background. OK, back in the 16th century when I was a teenager I used to sprint, but I have not run distances before, and as I'm 50 on Sunday, I'm am pleased that I have managed it.
The best advice is to 'listen to your body'. If it is telling you it's OK to carry on; then do so. If it is saying 'I can't take this any more', then stop and walk.
You will get there!! Believe me, you WILL get there.
We are all here supporting you, and we DO want to hear about how you are getting on.
I have my run written on my hand and time myself with a cheap stopwatch. IPod shuffle was a complete disaster, so I've improvised. Seems OK. Like the comments above. : )
thak you for the replys i will stay on week 3 . i am allways up at 4.30 anyway find it a nice time of day. ME TIME .so now go out doing c25k never see anyone
I would never suggest anyone deliberately skip - not if they are doing the NHS C25K programme, other ways of getting running and countless other forums are available if you want to do something different. However, this wasn't a planned thing, you were simply determined not to be beaten by a techno-blip, so yes, given that you completed the a Week 3 session, makes sense to carry on from where you are. Sometimes knowing that something is a bit of a tall order means you are gentler on yourself, don't push as hard... and have a better chance of it working out!
