Just on my week 2 of couch to 5 k program

I skipped 3 days in wk 2 and feel bad so ran today

Not sure how wk 3 and wk 11 will be achieved...

But will love to hear your experiences

Can you actually run for 30 mins without stopping in week 11 ? 2.5 months only ?

The programme 100% works. Yes, by the end of week 9 people can run for 30 mins without stopping.

Please read the full guide

Most of the battle is mental. Our brains have been telling us for years what we can't do and what we aren't good at so we find it hard to believe in our own abilities but here you will find thousands of success stories from all ages and all abilities.

Only you can find the right reason to keep going though. We already know you can do this, you need to find your own special reason.

Hundreds of people are graduating here every month. The success is overwhelming and truly phenomenal. You absolute can do it...if you want to. 👍🏻

Don’t fast forward to the end. Start at the beginning and work your way slowly through the programme No short cuts, just slow progression to get you to graduation

Many hundreds of thousands of folks have successfully completed the programme and so can you

Yes, by the end of the programme - providing you have done the sessions - you’ll be able to run for 30 minutes. better Believe it baby 😃💪👍🏅

From then on the world is your oyster running wise 😃

I started off the couch aged 56 (on the cusp of 57) having never run before. I just ran my third marathon aged 62. I couldn’t have done so but for C25k 🙂

Don't look ahead, just take every run as it comes. Repeat weeks if you feel you need to, but also be prepared to push yourself.

The answer to your question is'yes'. I started in September and can now plod around 8k. Trust the programme and good luck 👍

Please don’t give up 🙏 The program works I promise- I’ve just completed it today😁Some runs were terrible some amazing - trust the process. Repeat runs if you need to . Everyone will tell you go slow it’s the best advice you will get - yes I can now run for 30 mins but nearly 4K not 5k but now I’ve got something else to aim for !

YOU CAN DO THIS 💪💪

Well done for starting. All you have to do is go out and complete that sessions run, no more no less. Slow right down so you complete each run without feeling exhausted. Do post on here for loads of fantastic encouragement. Happy running

It does work. Sometimes it can be really hard, and sometimes you might want to repeat a run to feel more comfortable about it, but it really does work. As people will tell you, a lot of this is mental - so part of the battle for fitness is simply about getting the trainers and clothes on and stepping out. Just go slow at your own pace. And pat yourself on the back for starting this journey - the first steps are the hardest.

I came so close to quitting in the early weeks but I pushed on (well, plodded on!) and I am so glad that I did. Around Week 5, I started to really believe in the programme and once I was over halfway through, I was determined to finish. Each run prepares you for the next one, even if you don't feel it mentally, your body is ready. Go slow and steady and you will get there. When you're able to run for 30 minutes, you will be amazed at your progress. Keep posting on here and we'll all be cheering you on! ☺

It really amazingly does work. If I can do it seriously anyone can with just a little bit of motivation. Don’t look ahead and just focus on your next run. Hard I know but keep the faith. Good luck.

I can guarantee if you stick to the plan you’ll be running 30 mins none stop in 9 weeks. I’m a month post completing the plan and now run 45 mins 3 times a week. I’ve found a new lease of life and can’t wait for the next run day.

This program is so, so good.

Was I ready for wk3 when I'd just done run 1 of week 1? Absolutely not. But by the end of week 2 I was.

It's not all plain sailing though. You have to put the mental effort in. When it's a tough run, and there will be a few, you have to be mentally ready to push through to the end. And, you have to accept that there is a lot to learn. Go slow, really does mean go slower!! It took me weeks for that to really sink in!

But what this program is absolutely amazing for, is making sure your body is ready for each new week. So long as you listen to the advice on here, take the encouragement on board and believe in yourself, you can make this happen!

Good luck, keep at it and let us know how you get on!

The programme works, I am on week 9 running 30 min and I can remember the first weeks when running for 5 was a huge step up and the thought of running for 30 min unreachable

The main thing is to follow the programme, go slowly and fight the mental gremlins telling you it’s not possible

Mac if I can do it, I’m pretty sure you can too! Don’t worry about what’s coming ahead in future weeks; concentrate on the one you’re doing. Don’t miss runs and don’t miss your rest days. If you need an extra rest day, or 2, then take them. Keep well hydrated. If it takes you more than the 9 weeks, so be it - it took me much longer than that. It’s not a competition, it’s just you doing what you can - if you feel you want to repeat a run, or a week of runs, you can do. It’s your choice - and when you get to the end of week 9, you will be running for 30 minutes! Bonkers- but true, the plan works! Have fun - and let us know how you get on!

Definitely keep to the plan, but repeat each run or week if you don't feel ready to move on. You must take a rest day (or two if you need it) between each run. For me, repeating each week up to now means it has taken me 10 weeks to get to start Week 6 today. Also, go reeeeeealy slow. You will have bad and good days, but will work out what works for you pretty quickly. By the way, before c25K I did the Active 10 walking programme, which is good to get you walking 30mins a day briskly. Good luck and do what makes you feel good.
