R2 today and was feeling wary about it all morning. I couldn't figure out why, I haven't really struggled with any runs yet, I had an early night, a decent breakfast, good amount of water and its a gorgeous day.
I had downloaded map my run just out of interest. I have avoided any apps like this because I didn't want to be bummed out by finding I had just done 1.5k, I was happy to just be doing the time. But curiousity finally got the better of me..
(actually, now that I think about it, I think the app was what was causing my nervousness - I have been quite chuffed to date and I was scared of popping that bubble..)
Anyway, off I went. And it was totally fine. The 8 mins didn't even feel that much more than 5. I kept my regular pace for the first 8 and once I was halfway through the second I picked it up a bit which was fun.
I was also quite pleased that mapmyrun recorded a 4.3km workout. That includes the 15 mins of walking but as i up the amount of running and speed it looks like 5k is totally achievable.
I really continue to be amazed how sensibly following this programme can work for almost anyone.
