Run 2 week 5 - done!!

Did my first ever run of 8 mins without stopping - twice! Very proud. It got a little bit hard towards the end but felt manageable. This morning I really felt like I can do this programme. Get to the end and be able to run like a proper runner! It felt really good. Funny how week 5 has felt so much easier than week 4. Have a good day everyone :-)

Woohoo! Well done CressidaB! Tou've definitely got this! I actually found run 3 easier than run 2 once I got past the 3-min calf burn. I hope it goes the same way for you! 🤞I applied all the tips I got from our very supportive C25K community and was flying (ok that might be an exaggeration but my spirits were certainly soaring!). To recap I was told bed early, porridge 90 mins earlier, glass of water before run, listen to an audio book/pod cast and above all don't put pressure on yourself just enjoy the run and see where it takes you coz you've already achieved so much! Congratulations and enjoy your next run!!

Thanks very much for the advice and encouragement Post-Op-Jogger. Particularly reassured that you found run 3 easier than run 2. Thanks again 👍😊

Whoop whoop! Well done you. I found those 2 x 8 minutes they key milestone for me both mentally and physically.

From that point onwards even though there were challenges in subsequent weeks I knew I would be able to complete the program with the right determination.

A great achievement. Be proud.

Thanks very much for sharing that Alan. I have a feeling this might be a bit of a sea change for me too (not wanting to tempt fate). Thanks for your kind encouragement 😊

Yes, those 8 minutes were really beyond what I thought was possible for me. So much so that I went for a practice 8 minutes with my daughter the day before to see if I could do it.

It was very hard but I did it.

That was the real turning point for me.

Hopefully it will also give you belief.

Once again, really well done. You are on your way.
