No running this week. Just a quick photo looking down towards Rydal Water, as I am on my hols., from a climb yesterday to the top of Loughrigg Fell. We saw fabulous views from the summit, to Windermere, Grasmere, Rydal Water and the surrounding hills and mountains. limberlou is to blame/credit for the shoes.. our walk was a circuit and we spoke to a couple twice who were doing it in the opposite direction. The second time the lady said “oh we saw you before.. I remember you because I liked your bright shoes..”🤣

Finding joy in hills, and shoes
gorgeous! As is the landscape! 🤣🤣🤣
Love your shoes ✔️
Great views - the hills are not bad as well. 🤣🤣🤣
lovely - I’ve done that walk before, it does have fabulous views
What a view!!! My goodness....
Two of the most joyful things! New shoes and views-absolutely love it!
haha I love it!!I love bright shoes and bright leggings too. I quite often pass the same small child with his mother on my runs and he always says” look mummy it’s the lady with the leggings!! What’s she got today?”.
I have ones with cats, unicorns, sloths, dragons, dragon scales in various colours , sunflowers, Alice in Wonderland, Stars and Stripes, superwoman, Moths ( my daughters pet name for me- thanks Bart Simpson!!!) , Day of the Dead skeleton cats, flamingoes…… his little face lights up when he sees me which is lovely for me.
You enjoy your bright shoes and may they carry you on lots of adventures and great runs 😀
I love your shoes, the adventure, and the views! I am another lover of bright leggings. Most of mine are from Be Your Happy Place and I too have unicorns, flamingos, skulls and skull candy, Chinese tigers, tarot cards, all things witchy, and everything in between. Leggings to me are like shoes to Emelda Marcos 😂😂😂
I walk in very rural areas, so I rarely see other people on foot, but I'm known as the lady with the leggings and the hair (it's very long and in locs) by the car drivers and the gym girls love seeing what I am wearing when I go. They all reckon I'm the most daring 64 year old they know - but that's not hard in rural West Wales 🤣🤣🤣
I know what you mean!! I’m known in rural North Devon too. 😂
I remember my mum telling me when I was 23 and had my son as a baby” you wont be able to wear jeans now you’re a mum. You’ll have to dress sensibly..”. I wonder what she’d have thought of me at nearly 71
My Mum would have been 102 this year, but sadly she succumbed to a pulmonary embolism aged 59.
She was a proper traditional straight-laced Geordie woman and would have been VERY disapproving of both my attire and my hair - but I was always the rebel of the family so I have followed my own path 😁
Long may we both rock our loud leggings and shoes (I have tie-dyed Crocs 😂)
Yup. My hair is currently it’s natural silver, but I can feel a purple session coming up again. And again I know mum would not approve. She made it to 87, but she always said she wanted to live to 100 and then come back and haunt us all. Now that’s MY ambition. I’m already channeling my Auntie Bill, who used to whistle and sing all the time and I have always whistled but since she has been gone I do it all the time , sometimes without knowing I’m doing it too .😂
She also knew lots of little inappropriate songs and rhymes which us kids absolutely loved!!
If you get lost in the hills, mountain rescue will be able to see you in those shoes 😉.I'm glad you found joy in the hills, they are my happy place😁.
Have a great holiday 😊
There is that word again... I love it... JOY! Hills, views and wonderful SHOES !
Go you! x
