Frying tonight? No, FLYING tonight.

I don't normally run in the evenings. I don't normally run after eating an evening meal (tonight was ribs, spuds, green beans). But tonight I did both and I FLEW. A new PB. Total of 5.08K in 27m55s and Endomondo tells me it's a new PB of 5K in precisely 27mins. Crikey Moses. Feeling good tonight!

Hey that's awesome!! I normally run in the evenings, but I never run after food! Do you think you'll do that again or was it a one off? Great news on the PB!

Thanks Feefbev. I don't know, is the short answer. I think I could do it again so on the sound principle that if you think you can do something you probably can do it, I guess I probably will. The challenge will be to do it twice because this is all by way of training for the Great Yorkshire Run (10K). If I did that in 54 mins I'd be astonished (pleased, but astonished!).

I meant about whether you'll run after food again or not! Not about the PB......I can't work out if that's what you think I meant..........now I'm all confused!!!!!! Sorry - I didn't mean to ask if you'd manage the time again - that's just unnecessary pressure with a 10k coming up!!!!!! I'm interested in the whole running and eating thing..........I can't seem to run until at least 3-4 hours after food, or on a completely empty stomach in the morning.....but wondering if eating 'the right food' before would help......I'm feeling a bit poop about my distance and time today post Graduation......was the slowest I've been for awhile!

Oh, sorry. Clearly so excited I wasn't thinking straight!! I think I probably will do a a bit of evening running, which by definition is after food, but I have a strong preference for earlier in the day (not after food!). I do prefer to run on 'nearly-empty', after a very light breakfast, but in the light of yesterday's experience perhaps I should rethink that. It certainly did no harm yesterday!

good for you. I have seen a couple of posts about eating and running - I havnt worked it out yet. i don't like a running after eating, but I don't like running on empty either...can't quite find the happy medium.

but well done you :-)

It's difficult isn't it. I prefer running on 'nearly empty', after a very light breakfast, but exactly the opposite worked very well yesterday!

WOW!!! I've never ran in the evenings let alone after such a hearty meal but clearly this has worked for you and burnt off any excess calories before bedtime. Well done for your PB errmm what's the recipe again???
