After my body refused to work very well at my first Parkrun on Saturday I decided to go out tonight and do a nice slow run and see what would happen....
Well... my pace was slow, my breathing was fine, legs fine.... I just kept going and ended up doing 8k (over 1 hour running) non-stop! That was a PB for me in non-stop running After doing about 5k I really got in the "zone" and felt quite relaxed listening to the radio and could have probably carried on further than I did.
For someone who likes little walking breaks, I was really pleased with this run. I've read that a long slow one can help with shorted runs...
Still seems hard to believe the struggle I had at times with C25K... so folks, if you're just starting out... keep going.... you can do it!!
Happy running

Well done Andy, that sounds like a run you really enjoyed.
That sounds great, Andy. I had my first experience of that zone today and did my longest ever too. So good! Hard to believe the difference between Week 1 and now, isn't it?
Yep... loving being in the Zone .... well done on your long run to Like you, I had only planned to go out for 20-30 mins. Think it is good to remember those early days as we've all come a long way.
When you run for over an hour and do long runs, I find it amazing to look back and think how hard 60secs once were and then you stand there amazed at your own achievement great feeling! Well done x
Ps After your ' shouting teen' experience at Parkrun I was really pleased this week to hear "little ones get right of way" included in our junior parkrun pre run announcement.
That's brilliant Andy. I love it when that happens. Feel like you could just keep running forever!! I had the opposite today. After a good run on my black light run I went out today feeling quite confident and struggled loads!!!! Managed 30 mins but was hard work. Put it down to the fact that it was day time again, not my usual night time!! Then when I got back and looked at my stats I was going far faster than normal!! No wonder I was knackered!!! Didn't think I was going faster at all!! So I suppose I must be improving! Got a PB for fastest ever mile without even trying!!! got to be good. Shame I was like a beetroot!!!
Well done Andy.. Sometimes we get amazed to find out the energy in our bodies. It is from these kind of unintended trials that we realise how far we got to. Keep it up Andy.
