What with holidays and having grandson with me I have just not managed to run for 22 days, it was beginning to worry me as I have gym classes booked for Tue/Wednesday so after my coffee this afternoon I put on my running gear. This was a big move for me, I don't do later in the day running, I'm a first thing in the morning runner, its also quite warm outside although Garmin only said 19C, phew try telling my poor face that's all it was.

connect.garmin.com/activity...

Anyway, I'm back in action, had a nice easy 4K run and feel all the better for it. :)

Hi Oldgirl, Hey that was a very casual throw away remark - 'A nice easy 4k' !! You are making huge progress if you can talk like that. I'm not certain how far I run yet because I have to depend on Google maps to measure the distance, but it tells me I go 4.8K so it's not much further to 5K. I do admire you going out in the afternoon. I too am a morning person and if it gets to 10.00 I give it a miss for the day! (It's too darned hot!)

You did very well if you've not been out for such a long time. Good luck for your next step! Linda

Hi Linda in my case its not progress its regress!! It will be 3 years on 31st August since I first stepped out of my front door to do Week 1 Run 1 of C25K, I find these days if I have a break for injury, holiday or just life getting in the way of my running it takes weeks to get back to my previous strength and stamina. Never mind its all good fun and we all need a challenge to keeps us on our toes :)

So good to see a couple of posts on here about people not managing to run ... me too :) I last ran on July 1st, and although I have walked every day it has been too hot to run .. I have started at the gym and hope to get out tonight, and I know I am better now than back in January when I started this journey.

So fantastic for getting out there again :)

Hoorah, welcome back, I think there are a few of us who have not run as we wanted for a while. Well done on the 4k and hope you can get back in to your routine. :-D

Well done. I'm another who's had time off. Two weeks today for me and lots of prep to do this week for our holiday house swap so I don't see much chance to pick it up. Maybe in France..

Excellent work Oldgirl. My daughter Becky hadn't run for a while because of law exams and I could feel the effort she had to make to get back out there! Ad astra! xox

I've found that running in the Winter months is so much easier than in the Summer; holidays and change of routine often get in the way, and the heat doesn't help.

Good to see that you've done 4k without a problem. x
