Week 2 here we go!

I spent week 1 running in secluded places so that no one could see me sweating and swearing at 'Laura'. Funnily enough I bumped into pretty much everyone I know! Today is the first run in the Week 2 programme. I am really scared that I'm gonna fail. Can anyone offer me any advice / top tips so that I don't wimp out?

I got laughed at at wk2 cause people had seen me doing the walking part. They said your not running. I stuck with it and as I finished week 4 today, thought. I've probably run more than you have in the last few years and in a few weeks time I will be running even more. It feels so good to stick with it as the sense of achievement is fantastic. Don't feel intimidated by the step up, so far Laura has always known that I could do it, and I have. But even if you need to repeat its all moving forward, cause your not thinking about it your actually doing it. Good luck.

Hi Dovercourt! No you won't fail. If you've done all the runs you'll surprise yourself how well you will do. A lot of this is to do with your head. Get the right head on and tell yourself you are invincible! You'll be fine! Just keep it slow and steady to start with and you will do it. If you rush at it you may tire too soon and will be disappointed with your performance. We've all been there so know exactly how you feel. You'll come out on top though - trust me!

GOOD LUCK!

Congratulations Dovercourt on taking the first steps to a new fitter you! Don't worry about other people, you are the one doing this, not them! And in a few weeks, when you are running past them, hold your head high and say (maybe to yourself) 'Look at me now'. :)

Hope your run went well today! Remember when you see people you know, they are probably thinking "well done on getting out there, I should do that too" I graduated last week & this week got my first "Good morning" & a smile from another runner, I was 30 mins out & I was able to reply in kind...that'll be you too in a few short weeks!

I started 4 weeks ago and was petrified I wouldn't be able to do it. I've just done W5R1 and the sense of achievement is amazing, I can't believe i ran for 15 minutes! I have found that Laura makes you believe you can do it - and you can! I was self conscious running to start with, always felt I looked a bit daft, now I just put sunglasses on,pretend i'm invisible and go for it.
