Oops, I did a PB...

Good morning fellow-runners!

I'm shocked. I'm really shocked about myself. I went out at 9.10 am (usually too late because of the heat), started running at a train stop I have to pass to get into the park and took a look at the clock there: 9.16 a.m. I ran a relatively new route (I have to admit that there are no real inclines on this route) and panted all the time like an asthmatic old dog. I broke my mp3-player 2 weeks ago and still didn't get a new one so I now know how noisy my breathing is (and also how loud my steps are... which might be the explanation why so many people turn around when I'm approaching them...uhm, well...). I fought a serious battle with the little sloth on my shoulder telling me to stop as I'm already breathing so hard (it was just loud but not hard work breathe) and it's already too hot (I ran in the shadows and it was just 23°C so still ok and it should be the coolest temperature for the next 4 days). I won the fight and was back at my checkpoint, i.e. the clock at the train stop, at 9.48 a.m.

I ran for 32 minutes and already suspected that I covered a good distance. At home, I mapped my run and found out that I had run 5.02K in 32 minutes (unfortunately I don't know about the seconds as the clock at the train stop only shows hours and minutes).

Now to the reason why I am shocked: Well, I can't tell exactly, but I think, I just ran a PB by accident. When I headed out, I didn't aim for speed or distance. I didn't even take my mobile with me (as stopwatch) because I didn't care about my exact speed but wanted to have a clue on how many minutes I ran so took the above mentioned looks at the clock at the train stop. I don't say that it was an easy run and I was sweating more than I have before but I definitely didn't think about doing a PB.

I will keep running my different routes in the park, some with hills, some without and, who knows... maybe I'll accidentally do a PB on one of the hilly routes as well ;-)

Now off to a very busy day which definitely had a very pleasant start!

PS: Let's see which tags I get ;-)

Great job nomoresloth well done and CONGRATS!! That is the way to go! The other day I did a 10K without planning to do it when I started the run. I am sure it is a great feeling when you found out how fast you have run. Keep it up!!!
