Excellent - glad they're working for you. Protect those knees!
I did the whole gait analysis thing after graduation and bought a fancy pair of running shoes too, which have been great. Can't quite believe they are 10 times better than the Aldi trainers I had been using up till then, so I try and ignore the tenfold price paid and just appreciate them for fitting so well that I actually don't notice them. I'm sure it's worth it.
I'm plodding on doing 5ks in the week and 10k at the weekend now - in the pouring rain last Saturday, which was actually quite exhilarating - running through the pine forests, then along a sandy trail by the beach and then round the port and the fish market, where several boats were just landing their catch. Nice start to the day.
Glad you're enjoying your running - and the rewards.
This got me thinking Malcy...what about a 'enjoy your bum day'.....its when all runners love their bum whilst running, and everyone else has to give some appreciation to others however big or small, by a 'Iovely bum' type thing???
Well, it would be nice, but I can imagine appearing in court and trying to explain to the judge that this babe juicyju had suggested telling girls I met that they had a nice bum. Front page of the Daily Mirror As it happens, I was following a nice one for a wee while on Sunday's run and I did wonder if I should mention to her that she had kept me going through a rough spot. But I chickened out ... must have been the fear of being punched in the nose or something
Ha ha that really made me laugh. Excellent if that kept you going, I'm sure she would have been delighted, I see your point though, perhaps just keep it to Wednesdays? I have a few days like this, and today is 'enjoy your hair day'. There are more but they get worse!!Being a bit daft keeps it fresh and detracts from the job i have where i have to be a grown up
exactly, there are one or two things worth being an adult for but the rest is pants!!!
New shoes are amazing - although I was also told to break them in (something to do with gel reflex which went straight over my head... ooh look at those shiny new trainers ... sorry you were saying) - and then do a gentle 20mins for the first time out.
best £100 I ever spent I'll say - even attempted to avoid the mud and puddles so I could keep mine all nice and shiny - alas the inner child got the better of me.
so my now not so clean, but very very cushiony & no more shin pain so bonus too.
Although I have to say I indulge in puddles...its the naughty side in me...live life etc
Had swim today...only 1 mile but thats all I ever do.
I can't wait to get out with my lad on Thurs as I have to stay away for work for 2 nights ( I'm a top model....er actually I'm not but that sounds so much better!!!)
I did ask before...but hows the 'supermarket selection fiasco'???
Haha Juicyju just look what your new shoes have done to this blog!! Heaven above please give us good prior warning when you buy any further running gear Enjoy your new runners you have earned them.
Hee hee, thankyou Oldgirl, they are just delicious, I wish I could wear them to work. I can't wait to get home tomorrow and go on an adventure with them
