I posted a blog 6 wks ago about having a fall when I was 25 mins into wk 9 r3, i hit a wonky paving slab and went over really badly on my ankle, its not broken but it has ligament and tendon damage, I really want to start running again but should I wait until its completely pain free before I start again cos at the moment its still quite painful but was going to see what its like, what would everyone do :)

I would wait and not run until its totally better. By the way have you reported that bad paving slab to the council? You were not lucky but the next person could be even more unlucky and very badly hurt.

Good for you, too many people don't do anything about such situations and regret it afterwards.

A sports physio told me "never exercise through pain" (when I had a twingy knee). Let it completely heel before running again. Were you given physio/strengthening exercises to do?

It's a pain isn't it, when the mind (and most of the body) is willing but a little part scuppers our exercise plans. I tweaked my knee ages ago - no idea how and didn't notice an injury, just my hamstring used to tighten up when walking - and it took months to heal. OK, I wasn't strict about doing my exercises which didn't help, (this was before I recaught my fitness bug so wasn't motivated i suppose) but the GP said it can take up to 6 months to get better!
