I don't do well in the heat at the best of times so decided not to run this week due to the high temperatures. However, I woke up just after 6.00 this morning and after a light breakfast decided that I would try to go for a run in the 20 degree heat to see if I could do it. So a couple of hours later, and with my water bottle, off I set. After my warm up walk I ran at a slow even pace. πββοΈTo my surprise I felt OK! Yes it was warm, yes I was sweating but I was fine π. I thought about stopping after 30 minutes but I still felt fine and I really wanted to get another 5K under my belt so I pushed myself to keep going. And I did it! My 3rd 5K! I've never sweated so much in all my life π₯΅. Now for a large glass of water π.

To run or not to run...
That's good running thereπ I think I should have done that rather than try the Speed podcast ππ
Well done you !
It's certainly a hot one , I did my 2nd 5k just after 6 this morning π¬
Well done you, I know what you mean, Iβm like that, or I thought I was, last night on the news there were tips about keeping cool, staying in the shade, donβt exert yourself too much, etc., etc., and what did me and OH do.....why go to the local village running club and do a little 6k βraceβ of course...! (I did run/walk as recovering from injury)
When we got back, my Garmin had clocked a temperature of 33c......π₯΅πββοΈ...that is the hottest temp I have ever run in......and it wonβt be repeated too often either! I also carried water, jelly babies and glucose tabs - just in case anyone needed them........it was a right sense of achievement though

OMG, 33c!!! π²
I know! It wonβt become a habit thatβs for sure,! π, I was totally done by the end......and my clothes were as wet as though Iβd stood in the shower....ππΏ
Iβm sure the car drivers going past us must have thought we were all absolutely barmy! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ

Great running - it's really about being sensible and keeping that pace down in this heat..and finding shade where you can! Sounds like you listened to your body too - well done on your third 5k! ππ
