Gents, Running shorts or regular old shorts?

I normally run in some lightweight running trousers but have decided to inflict my legs upon the locals. I only have regular shorts and they don't have a runners lining or the like. Should I invest in some proper ones to reduce erm, jostling?

my hubby always wears proper running shorts. I think they're just as important as a good quality sports' bra for us ladies :-)

this might sound a bit stupid - but do you still wear boxers under your shorts or are the is the mesh lining enough to offer the right support?

so far have only ever run in full length tights, but will be needing shorts if the weather keeps warm!

Proper shorts are great - very light and comfortable - but don't wear cotton underneath. If you sweat they get wet and chafe - a lot. Sports briefs or boxers are also worth a small investment..

you should invest in a pair of running shorts. - so long as they are not the "Alan Partridge - come free at the side" type. I wear some snug boxers to keep the boys in place, then a pair of running shorts with a mesh lining.
