Do you wear anything to support your (ahem!) self?
I was chatting with a doctor about running yesterday, he runs regularly and suggested I should buy some shorts/underwear to keep things in order, as it were. However I didn't think to ask him for a recommendation.

Yes running in shorts it highly recommended. It's especially useful for keeping yourself out of unlawful entanglements. At the minimum I would recommend the purchase of a red thong.
red thong over your running tights is this winter's hot look!
A decent pair of running shorts or tights are made for it, worth the investment. With shorts I prefer the ones with the little pants things inside rather than the lycra boxer shorts style interior - much less man chaffage
Anyway, I'll probably look for some shorts with control rather than tight leggings as at the moment I prefer running in my light and loose jogging bottoms. I'll wear the shorts underneath, at least until I finish this thing, the Superman look doesn't sit well when you're dying with every stride.
I'm a girl but I help dress hubby (smhall) he was wearing what you men refer to as a jock strap. For Christmas, I gifted him with compression shorts. He can now wear the compression shorts alone or under another pair of loose shorts. I asked him after our last run if it was working out okay. Seems to be keeping everything snuggie-wuggie. Sorry for sneaking into a boys conversation. Not really, curiosity was killing me. Gayle
If you liked the sports bra posts, you ought to read the "knickers or no knickers" posts!! Oops. I wouldn't know anything about them, they are the ones that are always prefaced with, "Ladies only" It would be outrageous if us men were to read them.
As Gayle so aptly mentioned, I do always wear something for support. An athletic supporter, aka jock strap was what I began with, but now I find compression shorts just as supportive and much more comfortable. I think anything that fights tight and supports would be fine.
