The MalcyMeter has crashed under the pressure ... but I've looked at the stats on my own machine.
The 17:00 update says, spookily, that our total is bang on 20,000km That sounds highly suspicious - as though it's been fiddled. Well, I ain't been fiddling anything.
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!

BLOODY FANTASTIC!!!!!!! I have been checking and re-checking since 5pm and couldnt get the updated distance! I'm so happy I could cry, in fact I'm pretty emotional right now! I never doubted we could do it and reading about all the extra activity being logged today on here and facebook has been superb, I couldnt keep up with it all!!
The bubbly is chilled and ready to be enjoyed later! WE ARE THE BEST!!
I think the server must have locked up at the time the update was scheduled to run. I told it to do an 'ad hoc' refresh so it's all now totally up to date.
Fantastic! Well done everyone. Just wish I could have done more running than walking but just got back from a 10k walk taking my total to 328. What a team!
Extra special thanks for the malcymeter - this last week just wouldn't have been the same without it, would it?
Yay! Woo hoo! We rock!
Maybe I need to go an lie down too - yes, the emotion is running high! I've just added up my exercising time for today - 4 hours 20 minutes! Not exactly my normal day then. But I don't even feel all that tired!
The malcymeter was just great. Fantastic tool to have tthru'out the challenge, and certainly added to the tension of will we / wont we make the target today. Thank you Malcy.
Wooohooooo!!!!! We rock! Especially those people who really put the ks in. I've added mine after the 20,000 so it's at least 5k over and I bet there's more to come. I am going to have a drink tonight to celebrate a bloody great day for me and everyone and a truly amazing 50 days. Tati xxxx
Just had a quick peek - you did really well with your RfL Tati - that is way, way faster than I could do (yet!). A really good way to finish the challenge. Enjoy your celebratory drink.
I'm thinking of an actor who can capture the Cornish/Irish but now naturalised Scottish essence of PastyMan .... I think Brad Pitt could carry it off ....
Wow ! This is truly amazing. Well done everyone, it was a fantastic team effort thru'out and particularly today. And thanks also to our supporters on the forum - It was great to have you encouraging us on.
Wow! We crashed the malcymeter! I will be posting my 5K for this morning and then another 5K for this afternoon. Steve and I will be contributing 15K + to the total today. With the time difference, I'm hoping we still have the option to add it after the challenge ends by your time. We truly rock! Go team! Gayle
I've added 23km in the last few minutes (half running and half cycling). Strangely, I feel as if I could go out and run another 10 km but I'm not going to as the running was a bit hard on my achilles tendons and I don't want to do any damage !
Well done everyone that took part. I didn't feel up to the challenge at the time it started. It's been great seeing everyones progress. You've all worked so hard.
Nope! Well, I'll never be able to run 5k in 15 minutes just because of my age. But for anything that's physically achievable - I firmly believe that you just need to try. And if it doesn't work the first time, do what you need to improve, then try again.
This is the real lesson I've learned from the Challenge - we can do much, much more than we think we can.
(PS I know your question was rhetorical, but I couldn't help but get my neb in )
Well done everyone who took part, one heck of an achievement, your 20,000K total smashed too by the sound of things, truely amazing. I'm off to pour a Vodka Tonic to celebrate for you all. I have read your blogs this afternoon and it was reading like the Grand National,
times-fences runners-horses & jockey's it was all so very exciting. NHS C25K be proud of these guys and girls they are the best advert you'll ever have to prove that this programme works. Cheers everyone
I can't get into Malcymeter at all at the moment but I'm looking forward to seeing that big number starting with a 2
Thank you again Malcy for doing the techy work - the meter has been a real incentive both on a personal and on a team level. As you said - I've also learned that I can do more than I think. I can even ride a bike on a road and survive the experience
Had a busy day planned with niece & nephews birthdays, kids homework, cake making, slightly sore shins etc. so drinking my cup of tea first thing this morning I was very tempted to stay sat on the sofa. However people have sponsored me and although I have not done a well as others my personal goal was to hit the 250km mark. So I pumped the front tyre of my bike up, put my helmet and hi vis jacket on and off I went to do my final km's 15km (the most I've cycled). Have exceeded my 250km mark so very happy.

Brilliant result - and I'm sure the Malcy Meter brought about more k's than would have happend otherwise.
I just Googled Malcy Meter and there were two listings right at the top of the page (admittedly linked into the c25k site - but wow!)
Didn't quite manage the half this morning but then I didn't set out to do it. After yesterday's 10k run at the Trailblazer event run at Clumber Park (mercenary note: great goody bag) on a very good route, set out this morning on a slow recovery run but it was a nice day and went a bit further than intended, even had to phone home to let my husband know I was OK as I was over my time. But at 18k I was near home and had an urgent bathroom need (sorry about tmi) so had to get back quick. Still I hadn't actually been that far before so now I know a half is on. Have walked and done a couple of separate exercise sessions to get my totals up today.
Thanks again for all your hard work on the system Malcy. I guess by now you have an idea how much it is appreciated by us all.
It's what I do. I've been teaching this stuff basically since the web was released to the public, so it was really no trouble. Looks like I might be parting ways with my university this summer so I'll probably be doing more hands-on than in the past. Can't wait!
Thanks for the all your efforts on the tech side. I think it really helped give the team a focus. Whatever the future holds for you professonally I hope it's something where your talents are appreciated and you find fulfilling.
