I went out tonight for the first time since Sunday. The plan was to do 8.5K, a little half a K more than last week.
I did it. Not my fastest pace, but I made it round, and had enough in the tank to up the pace at the end. I have to admit, though, I've been doing a very passable impression of Mrs Overall (Acorn Antiques... remember that??) ever since I got back.
Big shout out of the day goes to the lovely man in his car, blocking the pavement as he waited to get out into the traffic, who saw me coming and reversed back into his drive to let me past. Thank you!!
9K next time...

Wow that's brilliant and how good was the man who reversed his car for you??!! Why is it when I'm coming up to what seems to be a quiet road that it suddenly becomes busier than a motorway when I want to cross over and I have to stop running??! Even happens early on a Sunday morning. Look forward to hearing about your further progress towards that 10k. Anybody fancy a coconut macaroon (Mrs Overall joke for those who wonder what on earth I'm on about)?! Keep up the good work. Claire. X
You seem to be at the same stage as me, I ran 8.5K on Monday, then didn't even get to 5k on Wednesday as my legs were aching. I know now that I should have had an extra days rest, another lesson learned.
Well done! A rest often does you good, doesn't it? You'll be up to 10k sooner than you think, but I don't see anything wrong with taking it slowly. You'll get there.
