4.78K in just over 37mins this morning (although I will confess a few minutes of that I walked as the hill in the middle was too much). I'm finding consolidation a lot tougher than I thought I would so it proves to me how important it is to take it slow and not rush in too hard and too fast. It's a month since I graduated and I'll be honest, I've been disappointed that I've not reached 5k yet but its motivating me to keep getting up and out there at silly o'clock every other morning. I know I'll get there eventually if I stick with it so I'm looking at the positives this morning on my post run reflection: it was my longest run yet, and according to Runkeeper also my best pace; I've still got enthusiasm for running a month after graduation; I'm sleeping a lot better; and I generally just feel better in myself. I'm still a work in progress and this morning I feel ok with that.

Edging closer to 5K
That sounds fantastic! You know how far you've come! Such an achievement! We're all different and I've tried to stop pressuring myself about that elusive 5k. I graduated on 12 June and have been out 3 times a week since. I know I'll get there, it's just taking me a tad longer. I'll be 66 next week and so proud😊
I've slowly had to come round to the 'slowly does it' philosophy - graduated late June and still only making just over 4k in 30 mins and still finding that 30 mins quite demanding. Have decided to start the consolidation plan CBDB posted (🙏🏼) - alternating the 5k running attempts with the nhs 12-week fitness program and hope better levels of fitness will get me across the 5k line. Or not. 4k is better than no-k!
I'll be 67 in October and am determined not to have given up on running by then - as I did the last couple of times I did c25k. In solidarity, Blossom and Jillybean!
I think the best thing to do would be just to keep plodding on as you are. The 5k will happen eventually. The key thing is not to try to extend too far too fast (time or distance).
