Another super run in the warm early morning sunhine. Still slow but who cares! So far so good.

Samantha is invisible and a refreshing change from Laura who I'm following on Strength and Flex . Music much better than C25K.

Am considering buying shorts -- or would I scare the swans off do you think?

I do envy you. I was all set to go out for an early run to try out the Stamina podcast and then, just as I was putting on my trainers, an explosion of work emails hit my inbox and I have been pinned down in front of the computer ever since. :-(

Stamina can wait. The roads will still be there this afternnoon. Stamina is one I have always found quite challenging. Let us know what you think of it. Happy Running :-)

Going good Delia! Yep, you have to get the shorts ;) I bought some last year but never wore them but will definately be wearing them this summer! Wore my capris for the first time last night - such a beautiful, warm, sunny evening but my feet were so HOT! :O I just hate having hot feet and dont remember this from last year.... maybe I will have to run in flip flops! :D

Enjoy the weather; ours is looking to change for the worse at the weekend :(

Sue, do you reckon I need new trainers? I heard from that crazy ultra-runner (I potsed a video ages ago) thathe buys new ones every 200K. Well, I reckon I've (we've) done 200K by now -- Ok not in 2 runs like hin of course! They aren't knackered by any means, but I think they are less bouncy. Delia xox

The advice is to replace running shoes about every 500 miles.

After your period when you were struggling with you running (and had plenty of other 'stuff' going on to distract you), it's great to read of you having 'super' runs! :-)

If you're getting hot when running, then do get shorts and be comfortable. I wore running tights style long-ish shorts last summer, but have now got short shorts and love them. They are much more comfortable. I know I look a sight in them with red thighs and a road map of varicose veins on my shins, but I've given up caring! I don't care what or who I scare ;-)

Thanks Sheila that's great to hear! I feel better and have become more 'selfish' regarding my Dad. I love him to bits, but he's not who he was any more and nothing I can do can change that :-(

As for shorts, you look great, I've seen a piccie of you somewhere. I get hot in the top half of my body, my legs are OK, but I just fancy a pair of shorts! You're right who cares? I don't even dye my hair! I'm a silver fox!

Foxy lady in shorts - whoo hoo!! ;) 50+ ladies - we rock! 8-)

I just did a calculation based on Swan's advice: so 500 miles is approx 800kms. If you run 5k 3x per week, 15k per week, that would suggest getting a new pair after around a year. I think if you start seeing signs of wear, they feel less bouncy or you start to get aches you never used to then it might mean a new pair. I feel a shopping trip coming on... ;)

Just got back from w1r2 of B210k. I'm right behind you! Found it really hard today, it was plod plod plod all the way. However, I did enjoy it, music is a real mix, but nice to have someone in the background to guide you. I think I'm just a bit tired, and I kept telling myself I'm going faster than I would be sitting on the couch - which I am now!

Shorts?? Wow, hadn't even thought about that! I've got some 3/4 length things I got when I ventured to the gym (didn't last long, I found it extremely boring!), so must dig them out.

Funny, not so long ago I would never have pictured myself in running tights, but now I love them! So who knows what I'll end up wearing! I saw a lady running today wearing one of those bikini type sports tops (not sure what they are called), but no, I don't think you'd ever catch me in one of those!

Well, last summer, Deryn62, bought some capri pants (that's what I run in now - 3/4 length running tights) with a kind of mini skirt attached to them. Not sure what to call the contraption but I did find it on the Nike website. Quite fancy one!

Bikini style sports tops? I run with Becky, my middle daughter aged 20. I would definitely need her approval first, but why the heck not? xox

The warm weather and sun makes all the difference. Nothing wrong in a pair of shorts.

I can not seem to find the B210K, must be looking in the wrong place.

Just started strength & flex to help me a bit more.

Now, go shopping and get those shorts. :-)

Def go with the shorts, I might even join you as my legs get really hot, when I can shift this baby belly a little. ( omg he's 3 yrs old now!!)

Two of my babies are in their twenties and one is in her teens and my tummy never did get flat again! Cold comfort?

Sounds like you should go for the shorts!

I bought a pair of 3/4 capris a month ago and haven't had the guts to wear them since... :-)

3/4 capris are safe -- that's what I started out in last July and what I'm wearing now. Shorts are short -- as in way above your knees -- scary!

I keep seeing it mentioned but what is B210K and are their podcasts?

DeliaItaly profile image
DeliaItalyGraduate in reply to caz1_ca

It's BRIDGE to 10K. There are several programs on the web that do this, I found mine using the 'tags' button on thi site. It isn't an NHS program.

I can't find the program either! Is there some way I can download it off my i-pod and send it to you? Malcy help please :-p
