Monthly Antibiotics

Hello Everyone

Has anyone been put on some type of monthly antibiotic treatment ? My doctor said something to me about doing this because I'm always getting infections. He said it would be a 7-10 day dosage taken every month.

I take a low dose of Zithromycin every day from November to April and if I do get a flare up then i just increase the dose for 14 days. I have to keep my immune system shut down because of Lupus so maybe that is why the doctor has me doing it this way. Not sure what it's working.

My 1st. lung dr. had me on one everyday for two years, said most lung infections were immune to this one but they found it helped with inflammation. Azitromiasin can't remember how to spell it.

I personally think doctors are to quick to just pass out antibiotics.... Our bodies can fight infections... I'm 51 years old and I know from one of my doctors(Pulmonary Doc) she'd keep me on antibiotics and Prednisone if I'd let her..

Doesn't your immune system fail after using steady Antibiotics?
