Is Trimbow causing me health problems

So, I have had 3 full blood counts over the last 4 months, seems for some reason my platelet count is very low, had the usual lifestyle questions asked by my doctor and after the latest blood count was told by my doctor that it's all a red herring, my platelet count must be my normal level, sounds plausible

Trimbow eligibility??

ok so I’ll reply to you all on my other post shortly, thank you all for your support!! I was thinking of asking my GP to step down my Seretide from 125/25 to 50/25 because the steroid is definitely doing less for me than the long acting reliever. I was also going to ask to switch back from Atrovent

Elevated PSA due to Tagrisso?

Hi all: My 79 y.o father has been on Tagrisso for nearly a year now. He just had his PSA levels tested and there's a bit of an increase. I'm wondering if anyone out there has had the same experience? (He does have a history of BPH and experienced urinary urgency soon after starting on Tagrisso.)

Clinical Pharmacist - I'm quite cross!

I received a letter from the Doctors asking me to make a telephone appointment on certain dates to speak to a clinical pharmacist regarding treatment for COPD. I telephoned the doctors, yesterday and after a long hold spoke to the receptionist who gave me an appointment for today for 11:30. I had one

PIPS and COPD

Hi everyone. Will my PIPS be affected if I still smoke? I’m trying so hard to give up by slowly tapering off and have reduced my smoking by two thirds with the method I came up with after numerous attempts over 20 years to stop. My cravings for nicotine were just as bad every day even after two years

unsure about diagnosis.

I am 77 and just had spirometry test and been diagnosed with severe COPD. Chest X-ray normal, sputum normal, oxygen 99%., no crackles or wheezing. No breathlessness just morning and evening chesty cough a few times which sometimes means expelling clear phlegm but not always. I have not been prescribed

lungs having hissy fit

Anybody else finding themselves really, really tight and short of breath in last week or two???? I'm assuming pollen & mould spores are to blame( my usual triggers), but breathing is a constant daily battle. My Relvar 184/22 doesn't seem to be doing much, am taking Fexofenadine 180 daytime and montelukast

Bronchiectasis and COPD

So let us unbundle COPD - it is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It was (is?) a bunch of diseases lumped together because the treatments are broadly similar, the symptoms ditto and the prognosis ditto. So that's the original logic.

Roof insulation quandry

This is indirectly a concern for those of us with breathing issues , plus your future option for equity release if you own your home. And can inpact on the value of your home. People were told that foam insulation in the loft was the bees knees , it was backed by the government and now it comes to light

Spring, and unusual weather

Think here in Midlands have early spring, my prunus cherry tree is in full bloom, pigeons eating flowers, hardy fuchsias in leaf, whilst snowdrops crocus etc still flowering beautifully. Lucky not to have had flooding where I live. Blue tits have been going into their box since before Christmas, can

People of HU: Meet Jim - Heart Attack Survivor Walks England’s Grand Union Canal

It was also discovered that I had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), type 2 diabetes, and chronic sleep apnea. And, despite my surgery, I still have heart and coronary artery disease. I felt deflated and useless. My recovery from the bypass operation was long and painful.

How I personally beat fatty liver / liver disease

Tips Walk for at least 30 mins every day To make this easier try and find a good walking track, if you don't have any walking tracks set a 15 min alarm and just walk in any direction and turn around and head home when it goes off, take music. Diet To drink : black coffee one full lemon squeezed into

Fascinating: Development of Venetoclax

For a few years, I've taken a breather from HU while focusing on full life rather than my CLL. I'm stepping up to post a new podcast from Dana Farber Hospital, which I found fascinating. Particularly for those on Venetoclax, or considering the drug, I couldn't resist sharing it. The Season 2 Trailer
