One year ago and subsequently I post on my situations, I had blood in my poop last year and so last few months had been good, but today I had a few Bms, with little poop and accompany with transparent mucus with a little bit of blood for one time. I’m worried although I had gone thru colonoscopy one year ago, CTI scan, MRI and tumor marker blood test, I went for all these because I had blood in my stool one year and certain months of 2020, All results are good but why this episode came back again, has anyone else encountered BM with transparent mucus and abit of blood? What will it be? It makes me worried

Dear mondlee6248 ,

I'm sorry to hear you are still dealing with these issues. To confirm, you are saying that you have had all of these tests performed again and that they again showed no signs of cancer?

Did the doctor provide you with a report of anything that they may have performed biopsy tests on (such as looking for celiac disease, or another possible gastrointestinal or auto-immune disease?)

We are always glad to hear that a person does NOT wake up after a colonoscopy to hear the words "you have cancer" -- but we often hear that people just live with symptoms after getting the "all clear" on not having colorectal cancer - but there are many other conditions that can be tested for, including food sensitivity, etc.

We do want to make sure that whatever is going on with your GI system that you and your doctor have a solid plan on the next steps to determine what is causing the blood and the mucus.

Did the doctor tell you that they saw any hemorrhoids (internal or external), anal fissure, or any other reason that would cause blood in your stool?

What did the doctor say about the mucus that you are experiencing?

Again, that we are glad to hear that you do not have colorectal cancer - but it sounds like you need to continue to follow up with your doctor to determine the cause of your symptoms.

If you have been following up with your doctor and do not feel that they are being responsive to your concerns, or they are being responsive, but the progress on determining the source of your symptoms has come to a stop --- please consider getting a second opinion from a different doctor.
