Mucus blood in stools

Hi! I’m 30yrs old. I’m not sure how I got to this site. Probably after Googling way too much. I have been having thin stools for approximately 3-4 months. Just a couple of days I notice some bloody mucus in my stools. I’m super scared and thinking the worse. I went to the hospital and they did some blood work and a CT scan and blood work turns out good and so did my abdominal CT Scan. Only thing I don’t understand from the CT Scan it says something about some scattered small mesenteric and retroperitoreal lymph nodes. I’m super scared! I made appointment with GI specialist but the soonest is weeks out. I have been experiencing upper abdominal pain when I eat as well. I have loose stools. 😭😭😭

Hi Arellano, not sure where you are from but would have thought a colonoscopy a better way to diagnose your problem. Not sure what those lymph nodes are, but I hope you do not have to wait too long to find out. Lots of people on this forum have had scary symptoms but found out that they were various problems not cancer so try not to worry too much. Easy said I know. Good luck with your GI appt.

Hi Arellano,

Thanks for posting in Colon Cancer Connected. We hate to see you're having these issues, but I think you are well on your way to getting some answers. That's the thing to focus on and be sure you get them. We are proud you are addressing these things early. The earlier the better and you are doing that.

You've gotten some good advice already and I also think the colonoscopy is beneficial to you. Any time you have symptoms like the upper abdominal pain, definitely get that checked out. Especially when you have the occurrences after eating. And you are doing well and seeking out the colonoscopy to help there.

Please share as you find out more about your "scattered small mesenteric and retroperitoneal lymph nodes." Massive googling only left more questions, so please just wait for your doctors to address that and narrow down the issue a bit.

We do wish you the best in finding out about what's causing your problem. Please keep us informed as it can help others that may be experiencing similar issues.

Have a good visit with the "specialist".

Hi guys. I have booked a colonoscopy with a private doctor otherwise I’ll be booked far out with my general doctor. I can’t wait that long. Can someone please tell me if the picture I have just attached looks like thin stool? Very sorry for the picture.

Hello everyone! Sorry for the delayed response just wanted to clear up my mind a bit. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done and results came out perfectly fine, thank God! However I’m still having abdominal cramping and diarrhea. I’m relieved that nothing came up on the colonoscopy and endoscopy however I need to keep searching for an answers.

Hi Arellano, I sincerely hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you ever got a diagnosis. I'm looking at all your pictures and my stool has been like that for the last couple of months. Exactly like that. Its eerily similar. I've scheduled an appointment with a GI specialist and am currently waiting, but like you, in the meantime, I'm looking online for advice. So did you ever get a diagnosis? Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same issues with blood clots...I've had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, CT scan, and ultra sound...no answers. It's becoming more troublesome bc now there is no passing gas without being in the bathroom, everything is urgent without much warning. I'm basically scared to leave the house. It's been going on now for at least 8 months.

I’m new here but did anyone here get checked for CDIFF? I was having all these symptoms and my stool got tested and I got CDIFF which gave us answers finally and a way to get better.

Please have her get to a doc ASAP. I had the same symptoms and they only got worse. Ended up losing 40 pounds in 4 months. Became anemic. Luckily during my colonoscopy and endoscopy they took biopsies because I had some ulcerations, although no polyps. Turns out I have metastatic (stage IV) breast cancer in my stomach and colon. I have never been diagnosed with breast cancer in my life and they can find no primary tumor. And yet, here I am, several months later starting treatment for terminal breast cancer. The biopsies were confirmed by two different path labs and looked at by multiple doctors. :(

Oh wow, can I please ask what your symptoms were and age? And how are you doing now. I’m 32 had to occasions of blood in stool in 2021 and last week 2024. Fit test shows I have blood in poop even though I can’t see it in the the naked eyes aside from them two occasions. I’m anemic and have had to occasions were I’ve felt faint in the last two months. I am extremely worried.
