sorry for the photo . I’ve had stomach issues for a year . I had a colonoscopy April 2023 and a sigmoidoscopy November 2023. Both clear so I was diagnosed with IBS-c. Currently I’m very constipated but haven’t passed stool only mucus . Yesterday I passed a lot of pink mucus like in photo . Some had more blood on it . I had blood on TP , not a lot just a few drops. No bleeding into toilet and not everytime I go . I don’t know if it’s from internal hemmroids or what it could be . I’m getting worried

Maybe have a conversation with your doctor about this because it needs explaining. Did the scopes report on any issues found or not ?

With IBS, are you eating Gluten and high FODMAP foods? I have IBD, Celiac and Gerd. I have other autoimmune diseases as well. I have pooped out the same stuff in the past. It stopped after several months of a very strict diet. I was told that it was from the lesions/tissue caused by inflammation. I completely cut out gluten, high FODMAP's, dairy and extra sugar. For me, onions and garlic would instantly trigger a massive inflammatory response. Both are high FODMAP's.

Hi jennwhite80,

Thanks for posting with us. Your colonoscopy was clear 16 month prior. If the results were indeed clear, perhaps time to get it rechecked. Could it be diet as ICE187 suggests? Possilbly something new developed. Get it checked out and get a definitive answer. Also, is there any family history that would be good for the GP to know? This could lead to some further testing as well.

Please let us know what you find out.👍

Thank you,

Tom

yes clear colonoscopy as well as a clear sigmoidoscopy in November. They checked took biopsies both times to check for IBD and cancer and all came back clear both times . My sister has diverticulitis and IBS . We have the same doctor . It’s only happened twice, both times I’ve been very constipated from fried food . My doctor is out this week but I had blood test for celiac and other blood work a couple weeks ago that all were good . The doctor that was at the office tod me it could be from constipation and once I pass the stools I’m backed up with , to check for blood . I only had it the one day so I’m confused .

UGH ... you may not see blood and it could be present anyway. Perhaps a FIT test which can detect it?
