Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I hate you are having to deal with these symptoms, but you are absolutely doing the right thing and getting that colonoscopy.👏👍 That’s exactly what needs to be done and it will get you the answers you’re looking for. What you’re experiencing could be caused by a lot of different things and they need to be narrowed down. The colonoscopy will do that for you. With the blood you are seeing it could be piles but it’s good to get a definitive answer. The main thing I would be telling you is to get a colonoscopy and you’re doing that so that should be your focus.
Make sure you do the prep properly so they have a nice clean colon to work with. Another thing to think about is if there are any hereditary medical issues in your family.🤔 That would be good information for your doctor to know as well. It could be a guide to some other testing you may need as well. Also, were there any symptoms prior to what you were experiencing three months ago? Even small indications could be good information for your doctor.
We do wish you the best in finding out what’s going on. Please know that there are a lot of different things that could be causing this and the colonoscopy is absolutely the best way to get you some good answers to focus on. Please keep us informed as to what you find out. It is this type of information that can be helpful to others on this site as well. We hope you get on the path to being well very soon.
Thank you,

My dad died of cancer when I was a baby and my brother had cancer at 36 he is fine now neither where bowl cancer but still cancer in the family.
Not that I can think off I competed on a men’s physique show on a stricked diet a year ago of rice chicken, oats, pastas mince no fat bacon milk etc health clean food calories around 3000. Then after I stared eating a little less clean still clean but allowed my self more food as I was in a deficit i felt bloated a lot and going to the toilet a lot more for a month or two. but that faded I woundt say my guts where perfect with little changes but I put the down to eating more and not a perfect diet.
then 6 months later all stared as going to the toilet 8 times a day roughly and like water. Then after 3-4 weeks it became slightly more dense but still soft and thin then water then thin. For weeks now it’s really small balls but only 4-5 balls a day, started with little blood now sometimes loads and with any stool at all then sometimes looks like clots.
I will attach some photos of changes within a 8 days.
First off, I would think that both you and your brother would want to get genetic testing so you can know if there’s a hereditary aspect going on in your family. I’m sorry to hear your father passed away at a very early age. Your father probably did not have genetic testing at that time. It’s a very common thing now and everyone who gets cancer should have this test to make sure it’s not hereditary in the family. If you or your brother test positive for a hereditary genetic mutation, that would have been passed on to you by either your mother or father. The test will be able to tell you that information as well. This is important to know because if you test positive and it was your father that passed on the mutation, then any of your siblings would need to be tested. Also, any of your father’s siblings would need to be tested as well.
I have a hereditary mutation called Lynch Syndrome. My father had it and one of his sisters had it as well. This was all in the time genetic testing wasn’t advanced like it is today. Two of my aunts sons passed from colon cancer at very young ages of 36 & 41. The latest passing was 2001. I survived stage 4 colon cancer that was diagnosed in 2012. Now because I have Lynch Syndrome, I’m likely to get it again. So, I get an annual colonoscopy, annual CT Scan and an endoscopy every 3 years as a part of my surveillance procedures. If it's hereditary, it needs to be watched closely.
Having genetic testing could determine if you need to follow a certain regiment of procedures in order to catch things early. That’s the key.
Secondly, there is definitely something going on with the poops that should be checked out. It sounds like this is far from normal for you. What you are experiencing could be caused by many different things. You just need to get some tests done in order to narrow down what could be causing this. Also, make sure you write down all the symptoms you’re experiencing. That’s good information to share with your doctor and writing it down makes sure you don’t forget. Also, share the history of cancer in your family. All these things can be helpful for your doctor and may determine what test you need to be given.
I’m glad to see you’re not ignoring these things. As I said before, these things could be caused by many different things. A colonoscopy would go a long way to getting you answers and there may be something going on in the stomach area as well. That would involve an endoscopy. Either way, these two procedures should get you the answers you’re looking for.
i had 2 colonoscopies last year they took 5 polyps away and 9 biopsies also attempted to take a 22mm sessile polyp away but had to be aborted asi couldnt take the pain' i went back for a 2nd colonoscopy but this time done with profolol so put to sleep they took the rest away . the results came back as proctitis mucosa divaticula and ibd. that was last september the proctitis i wii have to live with various flare ups from time to time. ive just had one for 5 weeks mainly water and mucous slight blood the gastra put me on suppositories which helps its almost back to normal again now, but the good news not cancer. i certainly dont want anymore colonoscopies unless under profolol
aw god that sounds terrible. Well at least you know what’s going on just sounds hard having to live with that long term. Hope things keep getting better for you
