I just had the two Evusheld shots this week. I had CLL for several years and last November completed a 15 month clinical trial (041702) with Ibrutinib, Obinituzumab and Venetoclax. Happily, at the end I was declared uMRD. I have had 3 Pfizer shots and then a Moderna a month ago. None of these generated any significant antibodies for me.
Now that I have the Evusheld I have 3 questions about which I would appreciate any help from this forum.
1. For how long will Evusheld protect me from Covid?
2. Once that periods is over, should I get a new Evusheld?
3. Is there a way to know if Evusheld is working for me, i.e. would another antibody test tell me if I am now protected from Covid?
I know Evusheld is still in the experimental stage and there is much that is still unknown about it.
Thank you.

1) The Evusheld antibodies are specially made so that they last much longer than our own antibodies. They are supposed to provide protection for 6 months, but the degree of protection depends on the specific COVID-19 variants common where you live. That's why, with Omicron now dominant in the USA, the FDA recently recommended double the previous recommended dose be administered now.
2) Yes, Evusheld should be readministered to maintain your protection, but you would be wise to still mask, etc, because Evusheld can't guarantee you 100% protection, particularly if you encounter a new variant.
3) The Evusheld antibodies should appear on an appropriate blood test, but given the level of protection wanes at a known rate, plus the major influence of variant type on effectiveness, changes in COVID-19 variant mix would, I suggest, be the most significant factor influencing your level of protection from Evusheld. Keep across Evusheld related FDA announcements. This pinned post should be updated accordingly: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...
