Evusheld and Vaccine : new information

Tomorrow I will get my second series of Evusheld. I finally got some official information about how long to wait for new vaccine. Home now; all good

The place where I'm getting my shots met with Evusheld reps yesterday and they got a copy from the Evusheld pharmacist who said there is no need to delay the vaccine after Evusheld. Provided them the hard copy information.

Two established infectious disease doctors I know well, one is affiliated with a long covid clinic said no waiting is recommended as well. I'm waiting a few weeks but it's for other reasons

What I had read ( and I'm not sure at all if it correct) is that the Evusheld would latch on to the antibodies produced by the vaccine making them useless and depleting the finite evusheld antibodies. I'm not sure if this applied to all vaccines or just the non MRNA one. I don't want anyone to take my word for this, but it would be nice if someone on this site with a better mind for these things than me would comment.

this was directly from Evusheld; written guidance; who knows; everything is all so new and not understood

There is that theoretical risk

Evusheld is a mix of antibodies against COVID-19, so there is the theoretical risk that it would neutralise the spike proteins in or produced by COVID-19 vaccines. So our B and helper T cells might have nothing to work with to produce our own antibodies.

Neil, Do you think that the spike proteins in the MRNA vaccines would be less likely to be neutralized by the Evusheld than those in regular vaccines?

I don't know the antibody coverage of the different vaccines. The spike protein was chosen as the most effective target by all the vaccine manufacturers as far as I know. It was a good target to aim for neutralising, hence blocking the virus from infecting us - well until it changed. Why do you ask?

I had read some where that this was more of a problem for vaccines derived from actual pieces of the Covid virus. Which if I understand MRNA are not.

A top notch immunologist thinks this may not be as much of a problem as originally thought, based on his patients with previous documented Covid infection getting higher antibody titers after vaccination, post infection. If the existence of antibodies dampens vaccine response, this rise wouldn't be seen. But if there are studies, the data hasn't been released.

Would you ask your Dr. for a copy of what the representative gave him/her about Evusheld and vaccines and scan it in to share with this group? Seeing it written in black and white would certainly help us all. I go for a discussion of Evusheld (second round) Tuesday Sept 6. I will listen to what my immunologist says about which to get first, the new vaccine booster or the Evusheld. It's my choice now here in the USA. The only guidance I've seen in black and white is from Aztrazeneca's info sheet that says wait two weeks after vaccine to get the Evusheld.

Thank you so much and all the best to you as we all fight to stay healthy.

i will. i read it myself. i wish i had scanned but i get so anxious with the injections i wasn’t thinking.

Thanks, but without sight of the governing documentation this still seems like Chinese whispers: "Evusheld rep got it from Evusheld pharmacist, who said..." NB Evusheld is the name of a product, not an organisation.

Can you get hold of a reference to the governing documentation online? This would have to be from CDC, possibly with input from Astrazeneca or independent research groups.

Thanks again.

like i said. these are stressful events and i didn’t think to ask to scan the sheet she showed me ; yes i know the manufacturer is AstraZeneca; not an idiot. Even scientists like me get rattled. no need to be unkind. only trying to help.

Sorry, no offence intended. The clarification is for everyone's understanding.
