Has Anyone had allergic reaction to Evusheld shots?

After getting my first Evushelds I developed 3 small hives on stomach 36 hours after the shots. When I went in for a repeat I told them about the hives and they then canceled the new shots. Has anyone here gotten hives from Evusheld. And subsequently been taken off it? It was really devastating to be told I can not have anymore Evusheld. The one thing in the last 2 years that gave some peace of mind since I did not get any immunity from 3 Vaccines to date. Another setback.

Oh my goodness, I hope that it is not a serious issue due to Evusheld. I have not recieved the injections because it is not yet approved in Canada. I too am now relying for some peace of mind when I am able to get Evusheld. Hoping that you can continue to get the desperately needed shots. Be well, please respond.

Thanks for your remark. I had had the first 150 ml shots and then was called to come back in this week to get the additional 150. But when I mentioned the 3 little hives 36 hours after first injections last month they canceled the booster and said I was hereby not allowed to proceed with any more for fear of anaphylactic shock possibility with new injection. Also I asked my oncologist and her PA if they had any other patients have a reaction to Evusheld. The answer was no. And The James is one of the leading cancer centers in the country for CLL. They see it all and are on cutting edge of research. So in answer to your question, apparently I am one of the only ones. Yay me......

Thanks for alerting all of us and what to watch for. Did not know that 3 little hives showed signs of possible anaphylactic shock.

The hives only show that there was a reaction. It is well known that if there is even a mild reaction like hives, it means that "sometimes" the next dose "can" turn into an anaphylactic severe reaction. Not always, but sometimes. It did happen to me with penicillan when I was in my 30's. I had taken Amoxcicillan many times over the years when all of a sudden, unbeknownst to me, I had developed an allergy to it. Was sick and given it. No problem other than a very slight itchy feeling and tingling lip. No big deal. 2 weeks later sickness not resolved so prescribed a second round. Within 15 minutes of taking the first spoonful I was breaking out in hives and severe itching, hands and face swelling. Taken to ER where I started having trouble breathing. Began vomiting and having acute chest pain. It was really bad. They stopped it with high dose of adrenalin. So with that history you can see why my docs refused any more Evusheld shots after 3 little hives.

I am scheduled Evusheld for tomorrow and was wondering if premedications are given or best to avoid. I routinely take allergy and sinus medications.

Best to always ask your doctors. I was not given any pre-meds like Benedryl like they did before my infusions of Obintuzimab.

I received the evusheld at the local cancer center with no premeds and no reactions. I’m very grateful to have been able to get it!
