hi, thanks you in advance for your listening ear!
This year I started to experience .. gas, fatigue, splotchy red palms and spider veins on face and upper back, hair loss and upper right abdominal pain..
had blood tests LFT normal, no celiac, diabetes, IBD or hpylori.. just high b12 (I was supplementing) thought I’m all good
then started rectal bleeding and darker urine which I ignored thinking it’s hemmorhoids/dehydration.
Then chased it up and had a sigmoidoscopy as was worried it’s bowel cancer again all clear ..
went for an private checks this month as I finally googled which told me all of this is a sign of liver disease..
the private results showed raised ALP, bilirubin and bile acids with mildly fatty liver (5%) the enzymes that were raised were just one point out of range not 2,3,4x the norm. It also showed low zinc and my urine had ketones & dehydration. So I went to my gp who said not to worry and ordered more tests
Lipids, creatinine, autoimmune, clotting factor and LFTs all normal but I requested an ultrasound so waiting for appt. To come through.
Google says my symptoms are cirhhosis
just some history.. I am 29, normal bmi, never had alcohol, drugs or smoke. Never had birth control, no long term medication, no long term use of painkillers, no medical conditions.
All in all I shouldn’t have a liver issue but I can’t help but shake the feeling I’ve done something to my liver by getting b12 injections (5 over a 2 month period over a year ago) and I was taking vitamins last year - nothing herbal/weightloss supplements, just the usual b12, iron, vitd or multivitamin. If this was a vitamin supplement injury would it not have recovered by now as I’ve barely taken any this year?
Around 2 years ago I noticed lack of appetite, libido and weird pink bumps if I’d hurt myself by knocking into something (this didn’t happen in the past) not sure if liver issues started then and ramped up this year? Or started this year? I also had 2 kids 2021,2022 so always blamed postpartum.
so I’m just confused/ looking for reassurance:/ recommendations for what I should request?
ive completely overhauled my lifestyle and eating Mediterranean with no processed food or drinks.
hoping if there is anything on going I will have reversed or healed it by the time I get ultrasound! Hope my urine and hands go back to normal soon it’s a constant reminder of something sinister looming every day!
