Liver Biopsy

Hi there. No need to be scared although it is a normal reaction to the unknown. In my experience the actual procedure was very quick and painless. From the biopsy needle going in and coming out again seemed like seconds. Over before you know it.
The worst bit is having to rest in the hospital bed for a few hours afterwards. Your blood pressure will be monitored every half hour.
Wishing you all the best
Hi, please don't be scared, liver biopsy is very straightforward procedure, I've had 2 one through my side and one through my neck, trans jugular. Both were painless and quick. I had to have 12 hours bedrest afterwards, so take a book.Good luck

I was apprehensive but I found it less unpleasant then having a filling or extraction at the dentist and it was painless. The doctor who did it was excellent and explained what he was doing throughout.
Hi, I have had 2, one through my side ( between the ribs) and one having a endoscopy, like you I was really nervous, but hand on heart it is painless. . Good luck
Hi, Mine was completely painless and over very quickly. As others have said, the worst part is having to lie on your side for hours afterwards - I would advise you to go to the loo just before the procedure, as they won't let you out of bed afterwards to go!
Had mine, I was scared. It's done with a fibre type device that was so small I hardly felt it.All over in half an hour.
I've had two liver biopsies. Slightly different procedures were used: the first one was uncomfortable, the second one was fine. A nurse accompanied me for the second one, which was a nice touch for a nervous patient. Be prepared for the long period after the procedure when you lay still for a few hours (eating peas lying on your back is not easy!). I'd say don't worry needlessly though.
I’ve had 3 since 2007. They sound more frightening than they are. The only one that gets a little concerning is when they have no go in thru the neck. But you don’t feel anything either way so relax. Good luck
As everyone said, it was quick and painless, the worst thing was having to pee in a cardboard bottle as they wouldn’t let me out of bed for a few hours 😂
All the best!
hi I like to share my experience with having a liver biopsy and I can ensure you that you have nothing to worry about it a fast process and painless as the doctor will numb the area before hand. I understand your fears which is normal the only part that I didn’t like was afterwards just laying on the bed not moving around. Apart from that everything was fine
