It's a beautiful day and I did loads this morning but after a nap I was determined to go for a walk.So in joggers and tee shirt I set off putting phone and key in my pocket.
I really enjoyed walking along the alleyway of green trees and bushes with dappled sunlight peeking through, but wasn't long before my phone was in my hand snapping pictures.
Turned right at the end of the alleyway along the road and I was soon on the seafront. I took photos and exchanged greetings with a man who was also taking photos,we then walked part way along the seafront together chatting which was nice.
On my own again I did a few very short little runs, I was soon puffing but oh boy that felt so good, I turned towards home and gently ran across the grass.....it's a start 😁.
As I left the seafront and headed towards home I put my hand in my pocket and uh oh.....no key....I scoured every pocket but no key, maybe I didn't lock the door....once home that was proved wrong,
3.76kilometres and now I couldn't get in!!!!!
I phoned my daughter and headed for the hospital.where she is working to collect her key and then walked back.....another 1.61 kilometres, no more running intervals.
Just before getting home I decided to go a little way down the alley, I knew I couldn't walk all the way again but I was lucky and not gone far and there was my key 😁.
So all's well, I shall put it in my key safe in future .
Enjoy your weekend whether you are running or resting . And good luck to our weekend racers xx

That’s amazing! 🤩 your first little run!!!! And keys lost and refound! I bet that made your day! Enjoy the well deserved evening rest! I’ve also run this morning and now we’re ready for our movie night and a good home baked dinner. Saturday’s delight!
phew so happy it had a good ending SueAppleRun . We were scouring the beach for a parkrunner’s key this morning, only to get a message late that she found it in her rucksack.
Looks like a lovely day for a walk there too, but you could probably have done without the worry.
So glad you were able to do a short run today Sue; it must make you feel that more is sure to come. And so good that your daughter is close by! I’m hopeless with keys and know what it feels like when you suddenly realise the one you left home with isn’t where you put it!
The key this Ng was a bit of a worry, and usually I'm in shorts or leggings so small key pocket keeps it safe. It was literally just a few running steps each time but so happy that I can do even that
Gosh, I woke up this morning from a dream where I had lost my bag with everything in it and my shoes! Still feeling a bit traumatised. It’s just a horrible sinking feeling.
Well done for turning what could have been such a negative experience into a real positive. And delighted to hear your legs have got the idea of running again!!
Really good to read that you got out and about Sue. Even better that you had a jog, I bet that felt great. I’m always losing my keys, wallet and phone. Glad all was well in the end.
It was encouraging that I can trot along even for a very short while 😁 worrying about the keys, if it wasn't my daughter's weekend to work she'd have been in Sussex, time I started using the key safe
Bet you felt good trying out some gentle jogging…possibly building yourself up to a gentle W1R1 of C25k? 😉
I remember as a child once that my mum accidentally locked us out! This was in the days before mobile phones, or even landlines in every house, so we would have had to walk to the nearest phone box! Luckily there was an open skylight window above the back door, so my mum helped me up and I was able to squeeze through and in!
Good job you didn’t have to do anything like that! 😂
