Still on week 2 HM plan

Today I had my pick of runs, week 2 has recovery runs speed runs and a long run, I’ve run the long run last week so….. recovery run, don’t know what I’m recovering from but hey.

I was going to do the JD day 6 but I’ve lost the link, lost the email, read a couple of posts here and got distracted by what music to play, in the end chose Joan Baez,

We walked round our usual park track, started up all the tech and headed for the golf course, all the new pathways are finished now so plenty of places to run, Willow headed towards the seafront in the straightest way possible at great speed while I went round and round, in and out of trees and even had glimpses of the lake. I recovered nicely while pottering round the park. We’d spotted the other day that they’d finished the paths the other side of the lake so the plan was to try it out, nice to look across from the other side, so many places to stop and take photos but I wanted to keep going.

Ah, the path threw me out into the main road, the entrance is blocked because work is still going on. Ran along the side of the road, left into where we used to park, up hill through the little wood and back onto the original track. 5 minutes to go and a big smile on my face.

Straight to shops as I’d run out of icing sugar, everyone else in long sleeves long legs and some in coats, but me in shorts and teeshirt red of face and grinning like a loon.

Home, food, now I have cake to ice and party to go to,

Happy weekend all

Cake will be fine as long as it’s survived the journey in the boot of the car

I still prefer the Derek and the Dominoes version with that riff to the Unplugged Clapton version. Coincidentally, I heard it played in full on the radio this morning.

Yup that’s my favourite version too

Don't you just hate it when you think you'll do a certain run and you can't find the link? 🤦‍♀️ you can actually find it on YouTube though. I checked it out the other day - just for future reference 🙂 Sounds like you had a good run anyway!

A car pulled across the motorway and we had to swerve to miss it, the cake suffered a bit but everyone said it was delicious 🤤 so….. a success

Eek, where do all the bad drivers come from? Thank goodness it was just a slightly dented cake 🍰
