Penultimate C25k return run

I did a bit of running tourism today, after an event I attended at the World of Wedgwood. I set out to do a run in adjacent Hem Heath Woods and it didn’t disappoint.

The sun was shining, but the woods kept their refreshing cool. Some muddy patches, with added challenges of in-leaning nettles. But once these were conquered, earthy footpaths, sun dappled, and gentle to the feet, led us through the nature reserve and after 30 minutes back to the car park.

Hubby walked with his super long legs, and I joggled with my super quick shuffling feet! 😃

Perfect!

And that means my latest graduation run will happen this weekend!

Yey!

🍏 what a refreshingly beautiful place to do your penultimate run!! Well done and everything of the best for the ultimate final run! So so well done for starting from scratch and getting to this point!! What comes next after, next week? I bet you have it all mapped out 🌟 ❤️

Awhhh thank you, Annie! It was beautiful! My perfect timing would have made this the final run, but better to get this beautiful run in than wait!

My plans for next steps are obviously to choose a 10k plan, probably NRC. But I need to take it super slow, as so often I had issues with calves, back, feet. So I will take my time , with plenty of recovery days and repeating weeks, hoping this will help with an injury free journey.

Common sense would dictate that I could stay at 5k, which might be safer for my body. But I do want to really push on to 10k.

🍏 The NRC 5K is a super place to start & repeat runs.. I love that you can choose to do the runs in any order.. By the end of it you will be ready to push on to the 10k or Juju … however a cautious consolidation is definitely key to warding off those pesky injuries.. 🐌 🐢 Xx

I was thinking of you, when going there, wondering how close it was. I had a work social event at the Wedgwood and brought hubby and than we just added the little run! (I had come prepared 😀)

The Hem Heath is a great little trail to run in!

Looking forward to hearing you've regraduated very soon 😁You know the value of persistence, you have the patience to build up gradually to 10k. Cooler weather and routine are your friends, take it steady and the longer runs will be yours😁

Hello, thanks for sharing this. How fast would your pace need to be in order to run for the distance in the proposed time?

If you mean what pace to run 5k in 30 minutes, it's 6:00/km (can also be written as 6:00 if it's clear what unit of measurement you're using.)

Pace is simply the time it takes you to run one kilometre, or one mile if that's your preferred unit of measurement.

Speed is usually measured as how many km or miles you can run in one hour.

So 6:00/km pace is 10kph. Chart here: depicus.com/swim-bike-run/p...

Yeah, I really don’t care about pace. As a proud back-of-the-pack runner, I’m just going for keeping running to distances, e.g. 5k, 7k, and hopefully soon again 10k.

Hope that makes sense?

Oh, that looks like a beautiful run! Congratulations on getting so far!!

I’m sorry! I was looking at your post and the Beyond plan and posted on the wrong one! Of course it makes sense not to care about pace. I wasn’t sure how the time and distance thing works on the beyond plan and I’m thinking about my pace at the moment 😂

This looks like a gorgeous run. How lovely to have this route accessible. 😍

LOL. The tricky challenges of online. Tee hee.

That’s the beauty of running, isn’t there. There is pretty much something for everyone, every speed, age, ability.

Good luck with your search for the best way forward for you! Happy running!

Definitely! I’ve only just graduated from couch25K, so I mostly have lots of questions about everything 😂. The most important thing for me at the moment is to keep getting out there and putting me foot in front of the other- snail pace and all! Happy running
