I had a lovely frosty run on Tuesday - the paths in my local boggy woods were frozen solid and it was so nice not to be squelching round. Much warmer today so I decided to get in the car and head for Sissinghurst Castle which would be less muddy - or so I thought!
It was a really frustrating run to start with, the orchards were boggy for my warm up walk so no chance of striding briskly, just picking my way through and trying to stay upright! Then start my run, heading to the bluebell woods. Hang on, where have the woods gone?! Oh, OK, they have cut all the trees down, never mind, I am sure I can find the path... Oh look, there are tree trunks all over the path, let me just pick my way over them. At least it's not super muddy. Start running again, there that's better... getting a bit boggy again but never mind, just enjoy the sound of the birds, nice to be enjoying the nature. [Sound of chainsaw roaring into life] And so it went on! I did have a nice trot round the lake after that, pausing to take a quick selfie but honestly, I think the running gods were having a laugh with me today! π

Oh dear not the calmest of runs for you. Sounds like we have swapped climates. I was out in shorts and T-shirt with 11deg yesterday. Weird winter weather. Happy running
Go to Spain, they have had loads of snow there, too warm running in the UK, hmmm, anyway you enjoyed your 'trot' today dispite the slightly muddy conditions, the chain saw and the tree trunks, nice photo of you.
Along the route I run the Forestry Commission cut down all the very tall trees but have now planted hundreds of new trees.
I would love to experience a snowy run, think that's the only weather conditions I haven't run in yet. I imagine there's something rather magical about running on freshly fallen, powdery snow. I may be over romanticising it though!
